Should DC monsters use NV poison values?

Post by Question » Sat Jul 18, 2015 6:18 pm

This applies mainly to the radscorpions who use the FO3 poison damage values instead of their NV poison damage values.

Also for some strange reason, no vendor in DC seems to sell magazines, anti-venom, and the first aid kits never contain doctor bags either (unlike the ones in NV). Are these intentional?

The vendors are a long standing issue that nobody has ever gotten around to doing, so it's not intentional, just not yet done.

There shouldn't even be "DC" Radscorpions, I thought I had replaced all DC Radscorpions with their NV counterparts, if not, then that is an oversight.

Doctor's Bags in first aid kits I'm not sure about if that is deliberate or not.

NV uses the container

Post by Question » Sun Jul 19, 2015 4:35 am

NV uses the container "LootFirstAidKitNV" which contains the leveled item "LootChemsNVHealing75" that contains "LootChemsNVHealing75" which has a possibility of including a doctor's bag. The DC first aid kits use "LootChemsHealing75" that do not have a doctor's bag.

I will doublecheck the radscorpion thing. As for the vendors, i will see what i can do about those since i already started modding them...

Who among us has ever seen a doctor's bag in a first aid kit in New Vegas?

I haven't either.

I can't really say, I never spend much time in FNV areas.

I have never seen a doctor's bag in a first aid kit in New Vegas. As to the radscorpion poison thing, count me as not caring.

My computer specs are too embarrassing to reveal, but the game still runs.

Guys, he's right. FNVEdit

Post by JaxFirehart » Sun Jul 19, 2015 6:30 am

Guys, he's right. FNVEdit shows that LootFirstKitNV has 2 LootChemsNVHealing75, which has a 1 in 8 chance of picking LootChemsNVDoctorBag50 which has a 1 in 2 chance of returning no item.

This means that, technically, 9.2% (approx. 1 in 11) of First Aid kits should have at least 1 doctors bag

Math is below because I am far from a stats guru.

LootChemsNVHealing75 : 3/4 * 1/8 * 1/2 = 3/64 (3/4 chance of picking something, 1/8 chance of that something being a 1/2 chance at a doctors bag)

(3/64 * 3/64) 0.22% of First Aid kits have 2 doctor's bags, (1 - 61/64 * 61/64 - 3/64 * 3/64) 8.9% have 1 doctor's bag, (61/64 * 61/64) 90.8% have no doctor's bags.
