Whoops. Custom races can't go on to broken steel.

Post by Rae1 » Thu Jul 16, 2015 1:34 pm

This was a problem on the orginal game and it was fixed by a mod called Cresbor ,the problem is I don't know if it will work as is or if i need to patch it ,but custom races like Shojo,Foxraces will not be able to go on into broken steel. I'm going to try Cresbor as is as i've had some strange luck with partially working fo3 mods. Then i will update my post here.

As mentioned in the faq.

As mentioned in the faq. Sadly most custom races care about making a full set (child/old) how they should do to be compatible with FO3 regardless if from FO3 or NV.

There's also Cresbor which worked, and I tried it and it does not appear to work I or someone will have to patch the mod over to ttw.  Or you can do the temporary solution and change to a default race before you activate the purifier.

Every FO3 mod (including this patch) has to be converted first to TTW before it can be used (as also mentioned in the faq).

Just Cresbor. But as I stated

As a temporary solution you could just change to a default race using the console command "showracemenu" then activate the purifier and change back after you wake up. You sure it wouldn't just be the Cresbor mod that needs patched?

Oh okay well as long as there's something there I just wanted to note that  there is an issue there, thanks for the replies though. (You have no idea how long or even the possiblities of getting a reply in the first place is such a bummer) For now I'll just use my temporary solution.

It's not a issue of TTW as I

It's not a issue of TTW as I explained in my first post. It's a issue of wrong made race mods. You experience the same bug in the original game. Would be nice if race mod maker would care but they don't.

If a custom race has both younger and older versions, it will be compatible right?

What sesom is saying, in general, is the biggest problem with race mods. The broken steel issue is something else entirely IIRC. There's a big list of:

if raceA

     do thing

elseif raceB

     do thing

and on and on until all the vanilla races are covered. Then there's an endif. Between the last elseif and the endif there's something missing: an else condition - Basically that script is missing the catch-all condition that covers "no vanilla race used".
