Understandably not a very long play through, but I've gone through two memorable quests and the entire opening, so I thought I'd list a few things that struck me as compared to playing Vegas/FO3
-
Remarkably stable. For an alpha, I don't suffer nearly as many CTDs as you'd expect. The DC area doesn't look great, but I'm not running on a great graphics card either, so that'll slide. I've suffered 2 crashes in the time I played, which to me is completely acceptable given Vegas with the amount of mods I run already crashes a fair amount. -
Very difficult at the start - but I liked that. I did have to empty an entire clip into a guard in V101, but besides that nothing seemed too ridiculous. The Single Shotgun does seem a little OP in the DC area, but I've yet to come up against muties properly yet. Speaking of... -
Muties are very scary in TTW. Already crippled, I had a gang of 3 or 4 chasing me, and if I hadn't managed to skillfully lead them into a band of raiders I'd have died. -
Forceps seem unusually rare. All the other materials for Doctors Bags are fine to find, and I found three in game, but not a single forceps, and they're the one thing I look out for. -
I'm missing certain crafting recipes (stimpaks and Doctor Bag substitutes), but I've already said my piece on that. -
A set of TTW loading screens might be nice. I'm currently using Better Loading Screens (http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/49620/?) which is really pretty, and the regular loading screens are poor in comparison, so I'm loathe to turn it off, but it'd be nice to have Fallout 3 ones in there too. -
The Brahmin skull issue, which I've already brought up, but thought I should include it here just in case. -
Some of the ammo drops in world seem to be out of sync with the amount of ammo enemies are dropping, but perhaps that's PN fucking with things, as I noticed that in F:NV too.
All in all, I'm extremely impressed so far, and I haven't even gotten to the stage of jumping around between worlds, which I'm looking forward to a lot! Excellent job, especially Chuck - TTWInteriors is a must. If there wasn't such an emphasis on vanilla in TTW, I'd be at a loss to why it's not just included in the package. It's very hard to imagine playing without it.
