There's plenty of safe containers to use. I always use the garbage dumpster in Springvale to store my stuff since nothing respawns in there. If you use Fallout wiki, you can find out what containers are safe to store things in.

Well what's a choice without

Well what's a choice without consequences. If you prefer the Megaton house then don't blow up Megaton. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Renting a room in the various inns is a great way to get some sleep before you can get a house. Also, by default, the vast majority of locales within DC do not respawn, so there are plenty of places to stash your loot. If I don't have the skill to disarm the Megaton bomb right away I usually stash my junk in the hollow tree stump next to Megaton.

Jax, one could however get both the Megaton House, and Tenpenny House by running Chucksteel's TTW interiors, which allows for another means to get the Tenpenny Tower home without nuking Megaton, by way of finishing a different quest.

DC is also FULL of old houses

DC is also FULL of old houses and other locations with unowned and easy to use beds. If you wanna play a survivalist build, why not survive by having to find a bed every night? As for storage, the wiki lists safe containersor install a mod that adds a few somewhere.

I'll still keep looking here

Post by Bandy » Mon Sep 12, 2016 12:23 pm

I'll still keep looking here at TTW since I finally have my merged install working, and loving it!  Many thanks to all who made this possible.  If there is a better thread on topic please point me there...

I like this discussion on portable-sleep-anywhere-gear here, and hope this goes somewhere.  On Moira's mission to 'Minefield' I came across an Airstream trailer at night while it was raining, went inside, and it even had a mattress BUT couldn't sleep there.  That's an oversight IMHO...

For me one of the most 'immersive' mods for Skyrim was one that generated random encounters during sleep cycles: http://www.nexusmods...m/mods/49307/?  No longer was 'safe' sleep a given, it is a very script light mod (have a look), and seems something like this would be ideal for more hardcore play in Fallout series.  I've searched some, but have not found anything comparable for FO.  Other opinions or suggestions?

I just released a Portable

Post by jlf65 » Mon Sep 12, 2016 5:31 pm

I just released a Portable Bedroll conversion. I probably still need to add more places to find them, but you can buy a bedroll from two dealers and find one in SuperDuper Mart. Adding some to campgrounds around the DC area is probably also a good idea.

As to a mod to interrupt sleep, I still need to install geck so I can compile scripts. Been busy programming IRL to do that yet. I've mostly stuck to simple mods I can do in FNVEdit.
