My thoughts on 2.2a

Post by TyrisBel » Sun Apr 28, 2013 12:30 pm

Hi Guys

This is fantastic project, I installed it without issue, it was up and running with Project Nevada, Type 3 and WMX with no problems. It's awesome to see the capital wasteland through new vegas's engine and I really hope you continue to develop what is a very complex project.

There are bugs and glitches, as such Im going to uninstall, not because I dont love this, but the F3 DLC for example seems to corrupt saves and freeze my game almost hourly, But I look forward to ongoing releases with baited breath!

Corrupting saves?!? I think that's a new one..

For the record, the save system wasn't very reliable to begin with, and I doubt Jax has done any harm to it at all.

Only when the mod or scripts are bad made (Bethesda made a few of these problematic scripts in FO3 and Obsidian in NV too). Autosaves are very dangerous in Oblivion but not so dangerous in FO3 or NV if they aren't made at these critical points. A good test if mods are clean made is if they survive the autosave treatment. Sadly a lot of them aren't.

I always use autosaves and never had any problems with TTW and I have been testing it since version 1.1 IIRC, since I don't use mods, my bet is that a mod is the culprit and not TTW fault. If it was me I would try finding out which mod is causing it and tell people around here, so we all know we need to lookout for that mod and maybe even somehow fix the problem .

I've never had issues with autosaves...ever. That said, I've seen reviews of CASM and it seems to never save when you need it to, and saves at the most random of times. To each his own though

I'm not alright, I'm an equal amount of left.

CASM MCM: Set it to save when

Post by TJ » Mon Apr 29, 2013 1:48 pm

CASM MCM: Set it to save when discovering locations, leveling, exiting combat/ don't save in combat, and every 3-5 minutes. Use ten saves and it'll overwrite the oldest one when it runs out. Don't like the settings I've given you here? There's several profiles, just switch to a different one and experiment. If needed I'll get a screencap of my exact settings. I turned off all the vanilla save settings I could turn off and haven't looked back.
