A few questions before I start.

Post by TwOtHpAsTe » Wed Jul 17, 2013 3:00 am

So i am getting ready to start setting up ttw, and have a few questions. Does this mod change how the game is over at the completion of NV, or do I just have to remember to save?

Having no experience with modding(I mostly play console games) how difficult is this for a first time mod?

Cant wait to get back out in the wasteland.

1. No we don't change the end

1. No we don't change the end of FNV in any way to be honest TTW does not make any changes to FNV accept for our transit method to get you from D.C. Which is a train station that leads from D.C. to Freeside and, back. We have also edited the FNV tutorial for the D.C. Start. It will now skip the Character creation portion of the tutorial allowing you only to change your name, face and hair.

We do intend on opening up an FNV start at some point but for now we are only in Alpha and testing from D.C. to NV.

2, The installation process is simple,

  • have a clean unmodded install of Fallout 3

  • have a clean unmodded install of Fallout New Vegas

  • extract the patcher and all it's files to a new folder on your desktop

  • Run the patcher.exe

  • if it doesn't find your games direct the patcher to where your games are installed.

  • For best results choose a install directory in a temp folder on your desktop and hit install.

  • after the install is finished move the contents of your temp folder to Steam\steam apps\common\falloutNV\Data

  • Set your load order according to your FAQ in NMM or FOMM and launch the game.

  • for best results start a new game, don't try to use an old save from FO3 or FNV things can go wrong if you do.

Feel free to come into the public chat if you have issues, the people in our little community are mostly more then willing to help you get things working.

If you really want NV to

Post by MrMedicinal » Sat Jul 20, 2013 11:18 pm

If you really want NV to never end, i'm about 80% confident that someone has created a mod for that. Just be sure that you don't install any mods until...

*You patch your game

*You play past the Vault 101 Character creation intro

Personally though i like my games to have an ending, but maybe that's just me...

Again the intent and goal of TTW is not to change or add our vision of what the fallout experience should or could be it is only to merge the two games into one epic adventure as seamlessly as possible. Yes we make subjective changes from time to time but our intent is to keep as close to vanilla as possible, only adding FNV features to FO3 when needed.

Every other change should be modded in as not everyone will agree or want the same mods. We encourage people to mod for TTW so we all can have a better experience.
