I read a article on the Fallout wiki about ED-E and it says that the one in Lonesome road was a massed produced version of the original you find in Primm and that it had been Programed with memories of the Courier. Just a suggestion, But wouldn't it maybe work to some how define the reason behind those memories. Considdering you're trying to account for the time lapse between Fo3 and FNV and what the Lonewander if i remember correctly did to become the courier. Maybe some sort of mention perhaps that he got his hands on that particular one while fighting the Enclave and Adams AFB and had brought it to the divide with him/her during the initial trip there. That one and the original ED-E did come from Adams prior to the Enclave DC Brotherhood war.

Its not like the divide has ALWAYS mass produced eyebots. What it says is that it scanned ED-E and copied its memory and blueprints and started mass producing them. So its memories of the courier come straight from ED-E. It's possible I'm wrong here, could you link the article you were reading.

I scoured that article and it confirmed what I said before. ED-E in the Divide is basically cloned from ED-E in Mojave, which is why it has memories of the courier.
Or am I misunderstanding you?

I got the impression that those memories of the courier come from ED-E knowing the Courier in the Mojave... in other words, memories of things that happen in-game. I didn't think they got too specific because it probably wasn't feasible to have too in depth of a conversation about what quests the courier and ED-E had done together.
There is also a line of dialogue where the courier responds to ED-E saying how evil the east coast Enclave was by saying something along the lines of "I hope they got what was coming to them."

Nice, might have to edit that
Nice, might have to edit that line a bit to either:
They got what was coming to them...
or
They will get what's coming to them...
Depending on DC MQ status
