Player Object Collisions

Post by rbroab » Sat Feb 23, 2013 10:31 pm

The dialog for NPCs when a player runs into an object was fine in FO3. But it seems there are a lot more objects placed and scattered in New Vegas.

It gets annoying to hear everyone say  "watch where you're going" and all of the variations. But it's also strange to hear New Vegas npcs, who have their own voices, use a common FO3 voice.

I'm suggesting we just get rid of that from TTW. But I want feedback from what other people think and if anyone else has had this issue.

I do hate FO3 companions getting annoyed at me for stepping on a tin can all the time, that's why I have Dogmeat at the moment and no one else :P

At least someone understands what I mean...do you know the condition that happens to make them say that? Like specifically?

(Read this in Jessi's voice)

"HEY! Watch where you're going." (Ten seconds later) "HEY! Lookout." (Looks the wrong direction) "That's locked for a reason."

We're kinda off topic now but still! Feel like my followers are judgmental tricks when they help me kill some raiders then I get that when I look into the inventory.

I can only guess there's some kind of script that makes npcs comment when the cursor is over something with an inventory

And something similar when the player touches any object

This is the one thing that has always bugged me about Fallout 3, "Watch where you're going!" is annoying to hear all the time.
