So I ran the new installer

Post by morlund69 » Thu Dec 26, 2013 12:49 pm

So I ran the new installer and it all worked fine (I think) and it created the fomods. I dragged them into the NMM mods folder, opened NMM (latest, 0.46.0) and went to install Tale of Two Wastelands - Main. I waited around for ~15 minutes, OS hangs up for a second, I get this (twice; I tried installing it again to double check, same message):

My immediate guess is I ran out of memory, but I say this based on having no idea what that message box is telling me. Unless this is something more serious than I think it is, I'm assuming I should just do a manual install?

If you think nothing is impossible... try slamming a revolving door. Yeah.

Yeah install them manually, I'm guessing that message box is from NMM.

Yeah, it was from NMM. Thanks, TJ. I'll go ahead and do it manually.

Are you on a 32 bit system?

"Currently NMM doesn't support the installation of archived big files on a 32bit OS . Eg. Installing a 1Gb archive with 1000 small files in it works; installing a 1Gb archive with a 700Mb and a 300Mb files in it, doesn't." http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/721054-problems-read-here-first-nexus-mod-manager-frequent-issues/

I had this error on a 32-bit WinXP test system with NMM.  I never got TTW to install with NMM because of this error.

If you have access to a 64-bit version of windows (XP x64 or Vista x64 or Win 7 x64, etc.) I would try that if you have  the heart for doing it.

You could also try disabling your antivirus - NMM has a lot of issues with antivirus programs.
