Hunting revolver's night-vision scope isn't actually night-vision

So the "night-vision" mod for the hunting revolver is, of course, supposed to give the scope a night-vision view.

When I acquired the weapon mod and attached it to the weapon, I noticed the mod doesn't actually add a night-vision view onto the scope, just increases the zooming. I was disappointed about the false description, yet can understand why.

New Vegas doesn't have an option for weapon attachments to add a night-vision view onto the scope, but I take it there's a possible way to fix this so it'll actually add NV onto the scope?
