Installer Crashing Badly

Post by XenoCole » Sat Mar 12, 2022 4:27 am

So I've found out yesterday that TTW updated to 3.3 and I've gotten excited about it and tried to install it today. I followed the github instructions to the T and, for some reason, my PC keeps on crashing. It doesn't even get very far before blue screening, about 10-20% if that. I will post up my PC specs, but I do not think that would be the problem, unless installing it on a HDD where the base games are is the problem. Please let me know what you think I should do. Thanks.

If you are blue screening your computer is clearly overheating. HW issue, check your cooling. Else check the FAQ to limit the threads the installer uses.

Q:My installer is giving an NTDLL error (or CPU is overheating)
A:Run the installer with command line argument to limit number of CPU threads/cores parameter -threads:1
You're talking about this one, right? If I am guessing correctly, then the line would look like "*insert path here*\TTW Installer 3.3.exe /cores parameter -threads:1"?

Correct, you can just make a shortcut to the installer and add this param to the end of the launch exe
