I searched for a while trying to find a guide or a discussion on how to install 3.2+ without Mod Organizer and found nothing. Is there a way to use the executable in the TTW installer to install TTW to the New Vegas data folder like the good ol' days? My New Vegas is in a separate game folder, not Program Files.
I read the installation instructions in the tutorial provided and followed Gamer Poets' instructions to the T in their video but I don't like having the TTW files in a completely separate folder. I'm having trouble modding files with FNVEdit and making patches.
Can someone please help me? I didn't used to have the files separate when I installed this years ago.
Thanks

You and i have very different memory of good ol days.
I remember i used to reinstall weekly because i messed around with lots of mods.
Anyway no there is no way to run without MO2. When it run it still load those fo3 bsa so you can see the problem.
Learn to use mo2, old chap. It should take a week or two. But it does pay off even for later playing vanilla f3 and fnv.

I used to use FOMM, which installs mods in the data directory directly. I used to keep several backup 7z arcs of my game, and constantly reinstall the game due to mod conflicts and the need to revert to an arc from before adding a mod. So yes, MO2 is insanely wonderful if you use and change mods with ANY kind of frequency. It's simple to setup and use compared to trying to keep everything in the game data directory. I can keep TTW as a simple mod of FNV, and have profiles for FNV or TTW that I can switch between with a click of a button. I also have plain FO3 as a profile on MO2... along with a number of other games unrelated to Fallout or Bethesda in general, but still can be maintained and launched via MO2.

Note that despite the guide say you can uninstall f3 qfter installing ttw, you dont actually need to do that.
Use your just learnt procedure to set up a f3 instance. You will, as late as a few months later, want to pick up f3 and play a while, just for comparison. I know i did that for one full run straight.
Speaking as a lazy player who really dont want to learn advanced tooling like fnvedit and shits... the time i learn to use mo2 is time very well spent.

But what if I want to make my own mod for TTW? I don't know how to do that now
Sorry guys like I said any help in this would be appreciated.
I load up FNVEdit, but only the New Vegas files are there. Should I copy and paste the files from TTW into the data folder, then make a mod with FNVEdit, then delete them?

To make mods for TTW, you have to run the GECK and FNVEdit through MO2 too.bill wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 12:27 amBut what if I want to make my own mod for TTW? I don't know how to do that nowSorry guys like I said any help in this would be appreciated.

You're going to need GECK Extender.
Join our Discord server (if you can or you're willing to), we have a very active Modding channel there, with several great modders that like to help anyone else with making mods for TTW (or just even NV). They will have all the answers you might need, they will also be able to tell you how to easily set up everything to make mods for TTW.

Re: How to install TTW without Mod Organizer 2?
Thanks again, Risewild! I opened up the drop down menu (tooltip - Pick a program to run) and selected edit, opening up the 'Modify Executables' window. From there, I clicked on the plus icon and added a new executable from file using FNVEdit.
