New version of FO3 GOTY Edition!

Steam has released an announcement from Bethesda concerning a new version of Fallout 3 GOTY Edition. Basically, they've just removed the GFW Live support and made it launch from Steam. Don't know if this will affect the TTW installer, but it might. The TTW team may need to check on this.

Actually yes, this new Microsoft Live removed Fallout 3 GOTY edition is giving me an unsupported version error.

I banged my head for hours yesterday uninstalling, reinstalling, moving to different folders ect. Now i'm wondering if its just this new GOTY version.

My brother bought the fallout 3 GOTY edition today and tried to install TTW and the installer was saying that his version of fallout 3 was not supported so it may have created a problem.

I just tried to set it up. I got an error message saying that this version of FO3 wasn't supported by the mod.

can confirm, as i went to install TTW on my reformatted laptop yesterday that the update has infact broken the installer
error given is: "the installed fallout 3 version is unsupported"

They did more than just remove GWFL. They recompiled it with VS2019 so they obliterated the ancient FOSE and therefore every mod that relies on it. I'm totally guessing from high-level survey view knowledge only but I'd expect it to affect the TTW installer as well. Its probably an easier thing for the genius TTW gang to work around than those of us who were recently starting on the fantasy of building a 2021 purist mod list just to see if they could /cry. If they can (and I have no doubt that they can) its kinda the final coffin nail in the debate between modding purist FO3 vs just play it in TTW debate.

You can get a refund and buy the GOG version in the meantime if you can't wait.

I don't think you can refund the steam version that easily, so I guess I'll have to wait that being said , rush 3.3 please and thank you!! I'm goin back to work
