Crashing on save
Recently (a few hours after I moved from the capital wasteland to New Vegas) my game crashes whenever I save. I tried all the methods I could find to fix it: killing myself repeatedly, deleting my autosaves, saving through the console, deleting old saves to get below 100. It only seems to corrupt the last three/four saves, but it's frustrating as all hell. This never happened on my other modded saves, and it didn't happen in the capital wasteland. The only thing I've noticed is that every save I try to make still makes a .tmp file, but not the actual save. And trying to load that .tmp freezes the game. Anybody got a solution for me?

Whats your mod list. Usual suspicion is a fnv only mod.
And wth do you mean, 100 save? Off the top of my head thats top reason.
I keep it below 30 and rar the save folder everytime i reach the end of the list.

Enable the save feature in Stewie's Tweaks. I've made a few THOUSAND saves and never had a problem.
Stewie's Tweaks should be a requirement for running FO3/FONV in general, much less using such huge mods as TTW.

Technically there's no problem.
Psychologically, there is. You dont feel a horrible waste of time slogging through hundreds of saves?
And if you dont slog through them, what's the point of making hundreds of saves?

That's the mod list. I didn't put that much in, never been big on huge changes. And I'm not actually sure if I had more than 100 saves at the time, current highest save number is 146 but I've had that same FNV save folder for like four installs now. I deleted most of the older saves in there just in case, since I'd heard that things could get fucky past 100.FalloutNV.esm

Re: Crashing on save
I don't like quick saves that overwrite the last save as you could do that at exactly the wrong time (done that before and wound up losing hours of play), so I wind up with a lot of full saves. I hang onto them as sometimes I like to go back to certain events and play it out differently, and I couldn't do that if I only kept the last several saves. Now I COULD prune the old saves, only keeping one in ten or twenty, but I don't want to waste time deleting old saves, so I just hang onto them all. The game allows you ten thousand saves, so I don't see a reason to worry about having a thousand or so.Laclongquan wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 12:32 pmTechnically there's no problem.

One of those Russian "modding" sites or Reddit if I had to guess. People love getting stuff off those and then complaining their game doesn't work.
Produces the programming equivalent of coffee stains.

They were mods on the Nexus. I'd read that they weren't doing MWX work for the Capital Wasteland guns, but I didn't realize they'd pulled support for the main mod too.
Come on now, I may be a dumbass but I'm not stupid.

Re: Crashing on save
Ahh someone recently tried to patch it, it's not supported officially and I wasn't allowed to merge the esps for whatever reason, and I'm not fixing another 1000 meshes so...
