Is it possible to have "Tale of One Wasteland"?

Post by kaldeqca » Sun May 31, 2020 1:32 am

Is it possible to just have an improved version fallout 3 that runs in fallout NV engine and not combining to the two games together? Is there a way to leave my fallout NV untouched because I want to run some mods that are clearly not compatible with TTW in New Vegas.

That's impossible. Just like it's impossible to play FNV DLCs without FNV.

That's probably possible. If you don't install TTW into FNV directly and then use Mod Organizer 2. You can install TTW in a TTW profile and have a modded FNV in a different profile (you need to have an unmodded FNV to install TTW first, but you can then mod it using MO2 and a different profile).

That's exactly what I did. Be sure to make a backup of the original game ini files for later. When I installed TTW, I installed to a different folder rather than the game data directory. Once the installer was done, I archived that directory and installed it via MO2. I made a New Vegas profile and a TTW profile. The installer modified ini files went into the TTW profile, and the backup of the original ini files went into the New Vegas profile. In the New Vegas profile, don't enable the TTW or anything using TTW. You might want a few things in common in the base data directory, like NVSE, JIPLN, NVAC, NVTF, Johnny Guitar, and the Mod Limiter Fixer. All those are pretty much mandatory these days for plain New Vegas, much less TTW.

I have TTW in an MO2 profile so that I can mod vanilla vegas.

I still appreciate how the installer lets us install the TTW files and inis into a separate folder. It makes it so easy to set up TTW only profiles in MO2. Appreciate the hard work on the installer.
