Maybe it does, but script extender and SE dependent mods can be finicky when it comes to versions specificity, so it's worth giving the previous version a try if nothing else is working.
I personally use the previous version of NVSE and have no issues.

No, they aren't finicky. That's not how code works, they either work or they don't.

Any issues that arise are due to antivirus software or windows security band-aids.

The only issues that might occur are with NVSE plugins. If an author of the plugin changed/removed/broke something in it that some mods use, then those mods might have problems.

I don't remember any mod breaking with a NVSE update, only with some NVSE plugins updates.
