No, that's not true. That's only when you set DisablePreloadToVRAM=true in enblocal.ini, which is solely intended to work around an infinite loading screen bug with Bethesda's games.

Re: FPS Stuttering
If you use ENBoost without any effects and only its core boost functionality, in-Engine Anti Aliasing should work. If I recall correctly that is. I actually use SGSSAA 4x in the Nvidia Inspector because it looks better than the ingame 4x MSAA + Transparency MSAA, which works either way with ENBBoost.
I honestly couldn't even play without ENBBoost since I would constantly crash because of passing the 4GB Ram exe limit. Yeah I know, I use too many 4K textures, lel. Weirdly enough with ENBBoost its only 1GB usage.

Does selecting the right AA matter with the in-game graphics?
I thought the in-game AA was enough, since the engine is pretty old

Didn't matter on my machine, maybe it only works on Windows 10.FiftyTifty wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 1:22 amNo, that's not true. That's only when you set DisablePreloadToVRAM=true in enblocal.ini, which is solely intended to work around an infinite loading screen bug with Bethesda's games.

Re: FPS Stuttering
Well if its enough for you, just stay with the ingame AA. If you have a powerful system I would use 4x SGSSAA over Nvidia Inspector. Looks definitely better to me but you are right, back when I had weaker systems I also just went with the ingame AA, was absolutely fine and did its job.senegalparrot wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 9:43 amDoes selecting the right AA matter with the in-game graphics?

I personally do really see a improvement when I use 4x SGSSAA @ 2560x1080p 21:9 resolution. But it also depends on your resolution. If you already play at 4K resolution on a 28 inch screen or something, you will not need that, beside of the fact that it will tank FPS like crazy if you use both 4K and SGSSAA.
Another little enhancement on top is to use Dynavision 3 and a little bit of blur on distant objects. Just low level. In combination with 4x SGSSAA you will notice absolutely no Aliasing on 1080p resolutions.

Ryzen 2700
1660 super
PM 961 NVMe ssd
16GB ram XMP'd to 3000 Mhz
Pretty Average.
If only I could afford a thread ripper, TRX40 mobo, RTX2070 and NH-U14S so I can play not only new vegas but I can also draw cartoons and edit 4k vids....

Re: FPS Stuttering
Your system should be fine with 4x SGSSAA. For 60FPS anyway. There are only very few locations in the world that can go below 60FPS such as the Capital Wasteland city, but this is mostly due to unoptimized world objects and less about hardware being insufficient or something like that.senegalparrot wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 7:48 amMy system?Postal-Dude wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 6:05 pmWell if its enough for you, just stay with the ingame AA. If you are someone with 120+hz screen and prefer having more than 60FPS at all times, I recommend to just use the ingame anti aliasing.

Re: FPS Stuttering
Well I don't need it as I play with vanilla textures anymore and my i4790k and 1080ti is more than enough for this game.
