Is it safe to use the unlimited companions feature of JIP CC&C?

Post by ZippoMoon » Sat Dec 14, 2019 8:51 pm

I know the mod Unlimited Companions is on the incompatible list, but JIP CC&C has a feature that does the same thing, will it break my game if I use it?

I don't know about "unlimited", but I had three companions and dogmeat at one point without a problem.

Note that some companions will refuse to join you if you have multiple companions following you currently even with the option on.

Just part ways, talk them into signing up, then pick everyone back up.

My wife insisted on travelling with all companions we could find for a while... which can be a bit annoying when you pass a door to a narrow hall and have to push your way through the crowd.

Other than that, we seemed to do the whole first game and couple DLCs with a crowd without trouble.

(It did make it amusing a couple of places where the NPCs are like "You are my only backup?" ...umm yeah, and the heavily armed and armored posse behind me)

All sorts of ways to enjoy the game, I have a solo sniper game, and she has an unstoppable army.

Two issues I have with tons of companions: going into a small room and forgetting to tell everyone to wait for you means everyone is packed into a tiny room/hall - you or a companion invariably gets put inside a wall or some furniture. The other is you wind up being bored as the companions will attack and kill most enemies before you even know they're there. The first you realize there's trouble is all the companions wheel about and start firing at nothing... until you finally realize there was bandits or critters just past where you can see them. A couple two or three companions is about the most you can have before both problems make the game unplayable... unless you like being a general rather than a grunt, and never ever take companions inside with you. :D
