2 game breaking glitches making it impossible to play

Post by ILikeBeens » Tue Sep 24, 2019 3:59 am

So to keep this short and simple (as short as I can) I installed fallout 3 and NV off steam and then used to tale of two wastelands installer. I choose to make a new character, and here's where glitch #1 happens.

Upon my birth and post character creation, my game freezes after James says "What kind of person are you going to be?"
No mother dying. Nothing. Game isn't actually frozen just not proceeding.

So after not being able to fix this glitch I just use a very old cloud save from when I was still in the vault. (I saved in the tunnel before I left). Remade my character and went into the wasteland. Played through the survival guide and main questline. Then when attempting to go to NV I did the whole quest, got on board the train, and flipped the lever. "Three years later" popped up, then nothing. I still hear dogmeat breathing and barking but no proceeding.

So I read on the forum and was pretty much told "Mods are breaking your game" Fair enough. I uninstalled (not deactivated. Uninstalled) all mods and reinstalled tale of two wastelands to be safe. Can't be born still. That's fine. Re-remake my character and play through again. Try to go to NV, Same issue.

So now I'm stuck. I installed the game properly to my knowledge and every aspect of TTW works perfectly except moving between fallout 3 and nv.

Current load order is still as suggested and no mods are installed. Any suggestions?

You're using old TTW version optionals and plugins. I have no idea where you got those, they aren't supposed to be available anymore. They break your game, that is why we had to remove access from the TTW 2.9.4 mod area, because mods for the previous version break the new version.

If you install TTW 3.2, then install the 3.2.1 update, then install the 3.2.2 update (updates can be found on the same download page as the main TTW installer), your load order should only be:
  • FalloutNV.esm
  • DeadMoney.esm
  • HonestHearts.esm
  • OldWorldBlues.esm
  • LonesomeRoad.esm
  • GunRunnersArsenal.esm
  • Fallout3.esm
  • Anchorage.esm
  • ThePitt.esm
  • BrokenSteel.esm
  • PointLookout.esm
  • Zeta.esm
  • CaravanPack.esm
  • ClassicPack.esm
  • MercenaryPack.esm
  • TribalPack.esm
  • TaleofTwoWastelands.esm
  • YUPTTW.esm
So you have to fully remove all the old plugins/optionals (remove all the files they installed).

Hilariously enough after updating it it was still broken. Then I read the "only" in your post.

You know what was breaking my whole, WHOLE game? Having the mercinary packs in the wrong order (below YUP) and activated. I disactivated them all and moved them. Boom. I'm in the Mojave. Thank you so much for the help.
