Fallout 3 installation is invalid?

I'm trying to install TTW for the first time, but it tells me that the Fallout 3 version I have is not supported/invalid.
I have Fallout 3 GOTY and Fallout New Vegas Ultimate edition, both on steam.
Anybody know a fix?

did you run both game launchers 1 time before running the ttw installer ?

Yes and Yes.
I am in germany, and I did run both game launchers. Rather, I had New Vegas installed for a while (cleared it of all mods, as required), then launched it once in a clean state just to be sure, installed Fallout 3 and launched that.
It just said "game version is not supported".
Does my country have anything to do with that?

From the FAQ:

Q: What versions of the game are supported?

A: TTW supports English Steam and GoG versions of both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. The original disc version of Fallout 3 is also supported, but you will need to ensure you have the latest patch .

To change to the English version of the game:

Steam: Go to your Library and right click on the game. Select Properties, and then in the new window select the Language tab. Choose English from the dropdown list and allow Steam to update your game.

GoG: Go to your Library in the GoG Galaxy launcher, select the game and choose More, Settings, Language.

I don't think that's it. I have my steam set to english, and install all my games in english.
FO3 doesn't even show me the language tab under properties (I know where to find it, and New Vegas does have it), and it launches in english.

German versions are not supported, they were on the list and are special "no gore" versions regardless of what you set the language to on Steam. They were never updated to the uncut ones after removal from the list.

If you just purchased them, get a refund and buy them from GoG, the GoG versions are uncut.

Thanks then, I've done that and it works fine now.
Issue fixed I guess.
