Q: Did the directory for this change in 3.2.x?

Post by alienxing » Fri Mar 08, 2019 5:23 pm

Male Child voice (DC)

That's the only reason I can think of for why Adopt Bryan Wilks' viewtopic.php?f=55&t=6528' voice files and lipsync files suddenly don't work in game post-adoption. I'm running 3.2.2

I'm asking because the only other time I had this problem with a converted version of this mod (many moons ago), it turned out that oddly, it was because the folders containing the voice files didn't match TTW's directories for that voice type.

It's probably the same thing again.

I tried it on a fresh save on 3.2.2 and true enough wilkins has no voice and lipsync after hiring him.
His voice and lipsync for his default dialogue (conversations & quest) was all working though.
Went into the geck to check his companion quest voice folder path and found out that it was wrong.

The voice files path was asking for:
sound\voice\Adopt Bryan Wilks.esp\MaleChild01DC\
but the voice files packaged in the mod's folder was:
sound\voice\Adopt Bryan Wilks.esp\MaleChild03\
sound\voice\Adopt Bryan Wilks.esp\oldMaleChild03\

tldr;
His default voice and lipsync works but the added companion mod's voice and lipsync does not because of the error in the voice path.
So i guess it is just a matter of renaming the the voice folder in the mod to match the geck's

Posting an update now. Hopefully some day he'll not need updates anymore.

He shouldn't. That was done in 3.2 to make converting mods easier, having MaleAdult04 become MaleAdult04DC is far easier to do than try and track MaleAdult04 to MaleAdult17 or whatever they got renamed to.
