Since TTW 3.2 decompresses the BSAs and adds an extra Meshes archive (hence why we need to edit the GECKCustom.ini file), can I still make mods for vanilla New Vegas if I have TTW 3.2.1 installed?
I ask because I posted here back when 3.2 was first released, saying that the GECK was showing the red diamond/exclamation point for a lot of the meshes. The issue was never resolved and I got frustrated and reverted to 2.9.4. But today, I realized that I had been testing the GECK by only loading FalloutNV.esm. I reinstalled 3.2, upgraded to 3.2.1 and loaded TaleOfTwoWastelands.esm into the GECK, and all the meshes showed up fine. Hooray! But now, what do I do if I want to make mods for vanilla New Vegas only? I don't want to make TTW a pre-requisite for all my mods going forward...

With MO2 you can make a separate instance or profile with vanilla NV.

I'm not using MO2, though, I installed manually. Is MO2 my only option?

If you installed manually you are stuck with TTW.
