Raider wrist hanging bug
This has been talked about elsewhere in the forum, but I think it would be a good idea to list the details on the NPCs that have the bug occur. If other users encounter the bug, and see it happen when an NPC has a specific inventory combo, share it and I'll put it on this OP.
Combo #1
Raider Blastmaster Armour
Pool Cue
9mm Submachine Gun

Roy said he managed to track down the issue to their armor.

Aye, he said it was due to the raider painspike armour, but I've seen it happen to an NPC wearing the blastmaster armour.

Well we haven't touched any of the armors or the player skeleton, nor the ragdoll. So this is probably a vanilla bug no one paid attention to before.

Hmmm... I remember reading about PN's knockdown effects being able to break certain things because of the flags and that gave me an idea. Theoretically speaking, would it be possible to glitch the body like this by crippling the arm at the same time the NPC dies? Like, the game tries to register the negative effect but since the NPC died at the same time it just doesn't know what to do and glitches out? It's odd that it only happens to raiders though.
I don't know. I don't really know much about these things.

I've not seen this issue in vanilla New Vegas, Fallout 3, nor in TTW 2.9.4b. It's only in TTW 3.2 that I've seen it happen.

Re: Raider wrist hanging bug
I've never seen it happen, so I don't know.
I saw a lot of strange bugs in 2.9, like exploded bodies in T pose, and bats and guns floating in the air on dead bodies and other weird crap I don't see anymore.

Re: Raider wrist hanging bug
I've seen the hanging wrist issue several times in 3.2 so far and wrote it off as Beth physics at work. Typically, the raider dies, wrist sticks in mid-air, and then ever so slowly, the corpse/wrist floats away...it'll merrily glitch through walls, distort, and occasionally start going nuts (super fast rattling/banging as it apparently collides with something...sometimes, I'll attempt to disable it just to get some peace and quiet). I'm wondering if perhaps BLEED or Live Dismemberment has a connection to it in some way...just idle speculation. I've never seen this happen in vanilla FO3/FNV.

Re: Raider wrist hanging bug
It's not BLEED.
I think this is related to bugs in the animations, the error log shows that some animations are missing a PRN node so the weapon cannot be re-attached to the bone. I bet this is the problem and it's been exposed because I fixed the flags in the weapons. We'll have to look into fixing the rest of the animation problems sooner than later. I believe it's similar to the doc mitchell's spinning head problem, probably some bug introduced in the engine code that Obsidian worked around in some other way.

Heh, guess this bug is one of the more inconsistent ones. I saw it quite often but never got too bothered with it. Making a save then reloading it, quick or full save, would fix the bodies but it's really not worth it given that they eventually disappear.FiftyTifty wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 1:49 amI've not seen this issue in vanilla New Vegas, Fallout 3, nor in TTW 2.9.4b.
