Cannot Get Past Lone Wanderer Screen

Hey there! apologies for any inconvenience, but i have an issue. Anyhow, i have Fallout 3 goty; Fallout New Vegas + 7 dlc's all of the ones available on the steam plus classic pack. Now i don't have any mods so I've just ran the launchers and done all that then installed TTW through the 3.2 installer, the one with audio re-encoding. I've done all these fresh installs and re installs three separate times just to make sure however whenever i launch it, it shows me the starting slides up to where the lone wanderer with his puppo stands before "New Vegas" then it plays for about 5 seconds of audio before crashing to a black screen then back to desktop. After searching the forums, i checked my quarantine zone for my anti-virus and nothing is in there. What am i doing wrong? I installed it directly to the f3 and fnv folders and ttw to fnv-data. Help please? I've waited for it to become 3.2 to finally play TTW, waited a long time aha. Thanks for any help!

Make sure you ran the installer as admin if it did not prompt you to elevate privilege.

OK I was having a similar issue. I could never get to the main game load screen where you can start or continue a game. I would get right up to that screen but the music would quit and I would then I would get kicked out to the desktop. Roy besides pointing out about the virus also said to make sure that the TTW plugin was there. When I checked that it was there but it was for whatever reason not active along with a few other ESMs. After activating them the game now loads ok. Now this might not be the same problem you are having but just thought I'd mention it to you in case it is.

How would i go about checking that it's activated?

You open the Mod Manager you're using and check if the TaleOfTwoWastelands.esm is activated (or any other .esm that is needed for TTW).

Although I am sure Roy was talking about looking in the "nvse/plugins" for the "ttw_nvse.dll" and "jip_nvse.dll" New Vegas Script Extender plugins.

I haven't been using a mod manager? Should i reinstall however through the most recommended mod manager? MO2 or MO1 i believe?

You can enable them in the default launcher as well. But the .nam files should force them to load.

I fixed it, although i fear i kicked up this big fuss over me just being an inexperienced dolt! All i was doing wrong was not checking the "Data Files" in the default Fallout New Vegas launcher and ticking everything. Apologies for such an easy fix, but much thanks to the understanding people who tried to help and did provide me the fix that i was just blind to see! Thank you so much to Roy, Royhr and RiseWild!

Hey Salokiin, I seem to be having the exact same problem that you were having, however I'm still unsure exactly how you fixed it. Do you think you could give me some sort of detailed walkthrough of where these "Data Files" are located and what you ticked exactly? I'd really appreciate your help. Thanks!
