Re: FiftyTifty's Damage Overhaul
I always thought DT should be present on metal armors and definitely power armor. For low tier stuff the DT value should be low and compensated for partially by DR.
So DR is present in New Vegas as a stat? Maybe phrased differently , you can mod DR and DT attributes in NV? I may get started on that myself if so and it just involves changing attributes in xedit.

DR is present yes, it has both.
I was going to have only Leather, Metal, Combat and Power Armor (and also the vault 101 armor) have any sort of DT values, with DR too. All other clothing having some DR only.

if you're looking for the value in edit, it's AR instead of DR
perms: either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.

Re: FiftyTifty's Damage Overhaul
Interesting.
I think maybe the way to approach this is which armor in the game should have the highest DT value? For people that know the game well from beginning to end. Obviously power armor should be able to mitigate and even nullify small arms fire. But how high should the value be? Keep it as is in game right now?
Then attach DT values to other armors such as metal or anything that appears to warrant the stat.
Most of the low tier and mid tier stuff would be DR mostly , maybe a small amount of DT.
It would be a nice progression through the game to as DT armors would be something of value and a prized commodity.
I’m going to start editing but I’m afraid I won’t have enough knowledge of mid to late game to balance it out.
I’m sure how the game plays is perfectly fine as is but maybe there is a progression that makes more sense.

Re: FiftyTifty's Damage Overhaul
I agree, it should be balanced with DR/DT, but the armor guy disagrees with it as it would require also altering New Vegas, but I don't have an issue with that myself because I always thought it could be balanced better.

Re: FiftyTifty's Damage Overhaul
In an effort to make sure the horse is dead , I started using realistic weapon damage mod v4. Right out of the box everything hurts more. A single shotgun normal hit takes about 4-5 shots to drop me. I’m also using 2x normal damage. So basically everything hurts. This is with around 10 DT.
This is confusing because I can’t yet tell if the problem is that raiders seem to carry too many single shotguns ( they seem to spawn. With them more often than not ) and that DT nullifies their deadliness making the player feel somewhat invulnerable early on. Or that the damage is just right but the second I face some real opponents my above mentioned damage curve will catch up to me and I’ll be one shot all the time.
Will continue to test.

Re: FiftyTifty's Damage Overhaul
RWD is not compatible with TTW
BLEED does the same thing (and more), not as aggressive due to the one shotting issue you described.
Have a go in Grayditch and compare the two.

Re: FiftyTifty's Damage Overhaul
Alright I’ll throw BLEED in there. I also use 2x weapon dmg and SawyerBatty.
Look good? I’m asking because I’d prefer not to find out that I’ve made some kind of hopeless dmg curve mistake 20 hours into the game. I play on very hard.
Checking through Xedit and it’s difficult for me to see why RWD is incompatible. It’s only appears to adjust 3 categories and nothing looks funky to me.

Re: FiftyTifty's Damage Overhaul
RWD has some dirty edits that make the game crash, particularly in Dead Money with the ghost people. It also doesn't support all the enemies in TTW, since they do not exist in NV or F3 some of them in the same bodypartdata forms.
BLEED also adds other mechanics for DoT effects and boosts all DoT effect in the same way. It also handles knockdowns and other stuff via event handlers, and makes explosions a lot more deadly.
I play on Very Hard too, game is too ez

Re: FiftyTifty's Damage Overhaul
Found a mod on Nexus that changes all low level NPC’s health to 100%. Apparently the multiplier was set to 25%. It’s pretty cool , not all head shots kill now ( most do ) and the raiders can eat some lead before they drop. Feels better.
The mod also sets player health mult to 1 or 100 health. The default is 2 or 200.
With BLEED I think that’s all I’ll need. With 2x weapon damage everything hurts but feels fair. I can now boost DT without feeling like I’m cheating.
Will see how it goes.
PS is there a mod or way to modify the percentage chance of a successful VATS head shot? I really don’t think it should be any higher than 50 or 75%. A lot of times it has the highest % hit chance and it’s the most vulnerable spot. Seems strange head shoting everyone considering the head is a small target.
