TTW Performance Guide (OLD, Do not use!)

Do you guys recommend starting a New Play through or can i start from a previous save before i did the performance guide changes? A Reply would be most appreciated, and thank you for the Guide its done wonders for my game!

Yea you can start from a previous save.
if you use a Ryzen cpu, allocate the game's exe file to one AMD CCX (you can use a program like NotCPUCores, thanks FiftyTifty)
it can prevent severe fps drops in certain areas.

So I checked the FAQ and saw, that TTW actually modifies iNumHWThreads and bPreemptivelyUnloadCells and some other values.

Does INumHWThreads actually increase performance if set right? And can bPreemptivelyUnloadCells decrease memory leaks? Asking since there have been all kinds of talks in the years about .ini settings, and how or good setting xxx or yyy is. Are there any benchmarks or proofs that made you consider putting these changes into TTW?

They were added after extensive testing by myself and a few other people. They were found to increase performance and memory management issues. A great many ini settings are either placebo or should not be altered.

Is there actually a noticeable performance difference between the GOG version of FNV and the Steam version?

Steam has like millions of SteamWebClientHelper.exe's running in the background, and I guess they could be interfering with FNV as well?
