MCM Doesn't Appear in Menu

Post by Agamemnon » Thu Jan 28, 2016 7:19 am

Howdy, so real quick question here. I'm not really sure if this is even the right place to ask, but MCM worked fine with vanilla NV, so I'm going to guess this might be TTW related somehow? Or maybe I'm just dumb. I dunno. Anyways, I have MCM installed and it doesn't do anything. The menu just doesn't appear in the options. I've had this happen before, but reinstalling MCM worked then, whereas now I've reinstalled four times and redownloaded twice and no changes. Here is my current load order if it's helpful, though I've moved MCM around a lot without any changes:

Try putting the MCM towards

Post by CDTalmas » Thu Jan 28, 2016 7:26 am

Try putting the MCM towards the bottom of the load order. Also, make certain that you're working from a clean install as other mods of the same type may leave behind artifacts.

are your folders and inis read-only?

I tried MCM at the bottom

I tried MCM at the bottom just now, no dice. MCM was the very first mod I installed after TTW, and no, nothing is read-only. Should they be?

no, they shouldn't.  but this

no, they shouldn't.  but this isn't a TTW issue, MCM has no conflicts with it, so there's definitely something going weird on your end.

I figured it out. NMM bugged

Post by Agamemnon » Thu Jan 28, 2016 8:20 pm

I figured it out. NMM bugged out and has only been installing the plugins to mods without any of the other stuff (I also had issues with Vurt's Flora Overhaul which I fixed by manually installing). I got it to work now, thanks for your help.

You know, NMM is not

Post by KeltecRFB » Thu Jan 28, 2016 8:28 pm

You know, NMM is not recommended use for TTW, only FOMM and MO ... :)

MOD MANAGERS:

- RECOMMENDED: Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) 0.14.11.9 can handle the install perfectly, even on lower-end systems. If you have issues and are sure you are on FOMM 0.14.11.9 you can swap out the exe with this LAA patch.

Works, with caveats: Mod Organizer works fine with TTW, though you'll have some learning to do to get the hang of it if you don't already use it. Use UIO for your HUD mods.

- NOT recommended: Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) does not handle large mods well, and tends to generate errors and crashes when installing TTW, even on very high-end computers.

- NOT recommended: Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) 0.13.21 is no longer supported for use with TTW due to FOMM being actively developed again. Seriously, just upgrade.

Yeah, I didn't install TTW

Post by Agamemnon » Fri Jan 29, 2016 2:34 am

Yeah, I didn't install TTW with NMM. I've never managed to get FOMM to function at all, it just throws errors at me when I try to install anything with it, and I hate the outdated UI of it. NMM has always worked almost perfectly for me, I've used it for years without ever seeing this, including on New Vegas and FO3. I've never seen this before, and I've been using this version of NMM for months. Heck, I had 100 mods installed on New Vegas with this version (and then started fresh for TTW).

We've been fighting with NMM

We've been fighting with NMM for a long time now with AWOP, it has serious problems with FOMM scripts sometimes. So does MO...
