Fawkes won't equip his weapons, he just uses his fists.

Fawkes won't equip his weapons, he just uses his fists.

I've made a merged patch and he still won't equip anything,

I've managed to partly solve my first problem with Fallout 3 mutants not using weapons by downloading both the animations from here and the animations from the Fallout 3 Nexus and mixing them together added with the Merged Patch, the animations are located below, on topic with Fawkes however this doesn't fix him, and he still doesn't use any weapons, and only uses his fists, Fawkes still won't use his Gatling laser, I've gone into the console and used ShowInventory and apparently it's marked as CANNOT EQUIP.

I'm going to have to say... your WMX install is all wrong and you have unneeded files active in your load order.


It's also probably the cause of your issues.


Your merge patch also probably has a broken supermutant weapons list.

I think I've removed all of the useless WMX mods my updated mods list is below, put it though Loot, and created a Merged patch hasn't fixed the problem I'm having with Fawkes, How would I go about fixing him?

Well, try sorting your load order manually according the stickied post on how to do so.


How come you aren't using TTW WMX? That could possibly be why ;)


Look in your merge patch and check under FormID List category, there is a list called SuperMutantWeapons. Make sure it contains ALL the entries from ALL the plugins.

I must have, otherwise I wouldn't be using weapon mods on my Chinese assault rifle or Lever Action Rifle.

If you are using TTW WMX then

If you are using TTW WMX then delete WMX-DLCMerged.esp and WMX-ModernWeapons.esp The CAR and LAR have weapon mods built into TTW.


You are supposed to build a new install, not install what I made over top of WMX.


Also you need to look at the supermutant LIST not the weapon entry.

Wait wait wait, I got it working, you were right I had installed all of those unnecessary WMX mods and it conflicted with my TTW WMX, and ultimately conflicted with Fawkes Gatling Gun, it's all working now.
