CASM with MCM

Post by Royhr » Thu Jun 04, 2015 8:45 pm

Ok hope this is a correct forum for this topic. If not then please move it to where it should be..

Anyway I have a quick question about this mod. I've been using it for quite awhile. First with FONV and recently with TTW and up to now I've had no problems with it. But now all of a sudden it is having a problem. Everything seems to be working ok with it except I can no longer do a quick save (F4). When I hit F4 it says that CASM is saving but when I look for the save it's not there. I can do a regular in game save using the main menu. Also it will do incremental auto saves. Right now I have that set to every 10 minutes and those saves show up. I tried disabling all of my mods except MCM and it still won't do an F4 save. So I uninstalled the mod, did a clean save, reinstalled it and again it won't do the F4 save. Has anybody else seen this? Is there maybe a corrupted ini or xml file or something? I looked for one but couldn't seem to locate anything related to CASM but I might not be looking for the right thing or in the right place.

Again it was working fine and had been for quite awhile. I hadn't installed or changed anything new so I can't see it being another mod or load order issue since what I have loaded was what it was working ok with until now.

Have you tried turning it off

Have you tried turning it off and back on again :P

Seriously though.  I would try uninstalling it, loading your save and making a new save, and then reinstalling CASM.

Unless, of course, someone else who know more about this than myself comes along and says differently.

Yes I did that already with no results. It was actually the first thing I thought of trying after disabling all of my mods didn't work. I might try the older version of the mod without MCM just to see if that will work.... But it's weird that this stopped working like it has when nothing was changed.

Well the older version of CASM seems to be working unlike the CASM with MCM. So guess I'll just use it for now...

Nope... I still use the older version. I keep an eye on this mod at Nexus but as late there have been no updates or mention of possible fixes.

It has to do with script

It has to do with script delay, usually. What I have to end up doing is holding the F4 key for 10-15 seconds to perform a manual save. You'll see the sluggishness in the game and after letting go of F4, it should produce a save.

It's also because the default key for the built in quicksave is F4, rebind it to F5 and it will work correctly.

Quickload however still doesn't work.

Set your saves to 2 minutes

Set your saves to 2 minutes with a 60 second grace period, then turn on all the features of the mod and forget quicksave ever existed.

I'll have to give this a try. For some reason I never thought of doing that since for quite awhile the F4 key was working ok. Then one day it just stopped working without any changes or additions made. Now when you say rebind it to F5 are you talking about doing it for the mod or rebinding the in game F4 to F5?
