.32 Pistol spawns with .22LR Ammo

Post by RH_Reaper » Sun Nov 22, 2015 10:32 am

Hey there. I got a wee problem with my game. I keep bumping into Raiders with .32 Pistols and .22LR bullets, which don't fit into the .32 Pistol...therefore they just use melee/unarmed attacks on me. I wouldn't mind it normally, but it seems to happen way too often.

If I'm not mistaken, CFW restores this pistol. I am tempted to jump into the GECK and create a patched ESP that changes the .32 Pistol to fire .22LR ammo. I don't mind if the names don't match, as long as it works, however I have very limited GECK experience and knowledge, and I don't wanna break something. I've changed ammo types on much smaller mods before.

In my load order you'll notice some custom ESP files. I did edit some guns, but nothing related to the CFW's or TTW.

[collapsed title=The Custom Edits I made]

DEagle damage buff, saved to its ESP

Kriss to shoot 5mm instead of .44, to its ESP

MSR556 changed the laser mod to increase accuracy instead of rate of fire, to its ESP

I created a new ESP for AG Supplementary and Weapons of the New Millenia reducing the weight of some items (the AK, the Goliath and the 75mm ammo)[/collapsed]

Here's my load order:

Any help would be very much appreciated. I'd also like to thank you guys loads for your efforts and work on TTW. Never thought I'd be putting Fallout 4 down this early to go back to 3/NV but you guys made it happen, thank you :D

If you aren't getting .32

Post by RoyBatty » Sun Nov 22, 2015 12:46 pm

If you aren't getting .32 ammo with the .32 pistols and also in containers and vendors, then you need to hand edit your bash patch to carry those things forward from CFW. Or if you don't want them then carry the .22 Revolver forward from TTW. Don't forget the Unique .32 pistols and remove the Winchester 70 if you decide to do that.

Hello Roy. Thanks for your reply.

I'm happy to do that, do you know if there's a tutorial anywhere for me to follow? And would I be using the GECK or FNVEdit or something else?

Removing the .32 seems like it's more complicated than matching the .32 ammo for it so I'll do the latter, not risk messing something up.

Also, instead of the above, would it be ok to just open the GECK with CFW and make a new ESP that renames the .32 Pistol to .22 Pistol, adjusts the damage accordingly and changes the ammo to .22LR? Or bad idea?

Thank you.

in cfw, the .32 pistol from fo3, which got edited to a .22lr by ttw, was reverted to .32.  you just have to undo the last part which is entirely in cfw (which is easiest done by doing Copy As Overwrite on the TTW record and putting it in your merge patch)

perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.

Hi Puppettron, thank you for your input.

Ah OK, so do I do that using FNVEdit to make a feature patch, which Roy shows in this video, but with TTW and CFW? https://youtu.be/z61u0bQUmgM

I just made a merge patch the basic way, which I've put under my bashed patch in the load order, so I assume it's better to add this edit to the merge patch instead of the bashed patch?

Thanks.

They are essentially the same thing, you can edit one or the other in FNVEdit, as that's exactly the type of thing that FNVEdit excels at.

It's a matter of checking leveled lists and things, the FNVEdit training manual and my "feature patch" video shows and explains how to do these things with a minimum of fuss.
