Hey all.
So, I am running the most recent TTW and loving it. Somehow, it seems to make everything feel so much more moody and intense in the Capital Wasteland. Only problem is that my personal mod - a mod I made which has some custom armor and a custom weapon that I put together on my own - is probably creating a conflict. It is definitely not a problem on the TTW side of things, as far as I can tell, and my load order is as it should be. I triple checked. Only mods in addition to the TTW stuff are my single personal mod and the most recent 'Ties That Bind' conversion.
I have found that, whenever combat begins, the game crashes to desktop if I am wearing my custom outfit. Right when the shooting starts, I think, or possibly when I get hit. It is hard to really say for sure what the trigger is. BUT! If I load up the same save and then enter the same combat while wearing a vanilla outfit, nothing crashes and everything works just fine. It took me awhile to see that the custom outfit might be the problem. Not sure why this would be but I think it might be due to the loose files or possibly the NIF itself...?
I am going to be exporting a fresh version of the model to the NIF file and building a BSA for my personal mod to see if this corrects things. But it is 1:36 AM here and my brainmeats are loosing focus, so it will have to wait. In the meanwhile, I wanted to check in and see if anyone knows whether or not New Vegas has an issue with mods that use loose files in the 'data' folder and crashing?
Thank you very much for sharing your experience with me.

Fixed.
Fixed.
Despite my sleep deprivation, it looks like re-exporting the model for the outfit fixed things. Did not have 'Export Dismember Body Parts' clicked the first time. Like a dumbass. I guess the deviation in the model that created was enough to create a conflict in the game when combat began, for some reason.

i'm glad that sorted itself
i'm glad that sorted itself out. more glad that you didn't finish with simply "i fixed it"
perms: either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.

Me too!
Me too! Thanks for the vote of gladness.
:)
And yeah, I mean, part of why I posted it to the forum in the first place is so there is a record of the issue in case someone else down the road has the same problem and goes looking for information. So why would I not include the solution I came across?
