I went to go do the Anchorage quest so I headed to that small Outcast battle that is going on when you get there but when I got there all the outcast armor was glowing very badly making the armor ugly and almost annoying to look at once I got inside the base the armor in the dark looked like a giant light bulb. Once I got in the sim and got to the point where I can see the t51b armor it was glowing like this as well. I don't much care about the outcast armor (it was looking fine before I went to go do the quest) But I do about the t51b since I plan to use it.

I've tryed little since I have no idea what to do I looked for other posts about this which was only 2 and I could not find a solution.

My fallout version is the latest GOTY for both New vegas and Fallout 3

Caused by enb + bornagain meshes. I thought someone had created a fix. Try searching.

My project Dash is on Kickstarter!

Thank you but the fixes I found did not work so I just uninstalled that mod. I'm going to keep looking for some fix that will work for me if I can't find one then i'll just try to find another armor replacer.

I just wanted to add that the fix was for only for the T51b and not the Outcast Power Armor. Cabal suggested a fix, but that fix didn't work for me personally. It would be great if someone could address the issue.

I see you have a couple of plugins for armor texture replacements, but I don't see anything for the Winterized T-51 or the Outcast T-45 (You said T-51 I assume you're talking about Winterized). Am I right or are any of those plugins supposed to affect the armor that is glowing?

With my fully modded Fallout 3 everything worked fine. But I had these same "glowing" issues with TTW.

Your Load Order only really gives part of the story, since some of these texture replacements don't use any plugins. I would have to know what else you have in there (if anything), that might be affecting your game's visuals.

For my "glowing" problem I had to make a plugin with GECK to fix it.

You have to make a new "Texture Set", and assign all the new textures correctly. You then assign the new texture set to the armor that it goes with. You also have to do this for the helmets. You might be able to modify the original texture set, but that might be a bad idea and I am not the guy to answer that question.

I think it was the textures that end with "_g" and "_m" that are causing the problems (glow and environment maps? not sure). I believe Vanilla textures only use 2, the actual texture and the normal/bump(?) map that ends with "_n". Most of the Bornagain mods and other texture replacements I have used added new textures like I described, and they either had their own esp or you had to assign the textures yourself if you wanted them to work right.

Check what these mods are adding to your data folder, this may or may not apply to you.

Bastardo, could you simplify your solution for those not as knowledgeable? I don't know if this is relevant to your solution, but I disabled both the ESP and removed the textures Bornagain Outcast Power Armor had, but the armor still glows, I think even brighter.

ha, I'm not really

ha, I'm not really knowledgeable myself.

But you need to enable those esp files for the armor to work right.

I'm not sure but since some armors share assets and some mods add new meshes, if you mod one you might have to mod both. What I mean, if you mod t-45 you also have to mod Outcast t-45. If you mod t-51, you also have to mod Winterized t-51. Not sure about this part but for some reason it keeps coming up in my head when I remember this problem. I think this is only if the mesh is replaced, since one set would have all the right textures and the other would use the new mesh but only the vanilla textures resulting in oddness.

Instead of all the different esp files (one esp for each mod), I made a new esp that would do the same thing as all those separate esp files (I suck at merging mods) so I did it from scratch.

What I did. You open up geck and load all the files you need to run TTW. Save a new plugin as whatever you want (ex-> armor_patch.esp). You then have to look for the "texture sets" of the armors you are going to work on. Like this.

You can either mod the original "texture set", or make a new one. But you add the new textures from the mod. Right there where it says Glow/Skin/Hair you add the texture that ends with _g. Where it says Environment you add the texture that ends with _m. Then you save the plugin. After that, you go into Items-Armor and find the armor you are working on.

Double click it, and go into the tab that says "edit" under "Biped Model".

This is where you assign the textures, until it looks something like the picture. When you add textures, a window with a list will pop up that lets you choose from the different texture sets. Just pick the one you made/modified. I don't know if I did it the "right" way, but my shit doesn't glow anymore.

Thanks for the helpful guide. Sadly I wasn't able to do it correctly. Would it be too much trouble for you to post your Outcast T-45D textures/meshes?

Sorry but that ain't happening. I don't know if I'm even allowed to do so, and I would have to get permission from the original modders.

I'm pretty sure I also altered the textures that I downloaded as well, and my TTW Installation is very "custom". Some of that stuff would only make sense to me, and the esp that you would need is part of a much larger "general purpose" patch I made to make all my plugins work together. It would take a dump on your game.
