Adding Lonesome Road Riot Gear to DC Wasteland

Post by BackyardStalker » Wed Apr 23, 2014 7:54 pm

Hey guys. I've been poking around the forums recently and have even made a mod request about this, but I really want to do it myself, even though I'm new to modding. What I want to do is add the various Riot Gears from Lonesome Road into the DC Wasteland, specifically to certain vendors and the Regulators. I figured this would be done by somehow adding it to their leveled lists.

Now, I've read talk about functions like AddFormToFormList and ListAddForm, but I've found little info on them (the Geck Wiki is useless), and I can't find a detailed guide. I was thinking of copying the leveled lists, renaming them, and changing them to add the armors to the vendors and the Regulators. However, before I jump in head first, I was hoping someone could give me their professional opinion and maybe give me a step-by-step guide as how to properly do this.

Why is the GECK wiki useless?

Why is the GECK wiki useless? What information are you missing? If you just dismiss the wiki you are going to have a really hard time modding.

You should follow the tutorials on the GECK wiki. Plenty of people here will help you, but you have to help yourself first.

The ListAddform / AddFormToFormList pages only have definitions, and any related materials are too confusing for me to rap my head around.

So then you need to start at a lower level. Read the scripting tutorials at least. The wiki has a definition and usage examples, if you don't understand how to use those commands by reading that, then you aren't ready to write scripts yet.

No worries. If something you encounter confuses you, feel free to ask for a better explanation. I just know the information is already out there and better written than I could do in any reasonable amount of time, so I told you to start there.
