NMC LOD issues

Post by Haggis » Sun Apr 21, 2013 6:41 pm

Hello, when I use NMC's texture pack in TTW, I get the darker Fallout 3 rocks, and the reddish New Vegas LOD. I've uploaded a picture showing the issue.

I first installed NMC's Fallout 3 Full texture pack, followed by the New Vegas version. I overwrote F3's textures with the NV ones. After that didn't work, I tried using the "Washed Out Wasteland" version, but it didn't completely fix my issue, the rocks were still slightly red.

Does this happen to anyone else? Thanks for reading

EDIT: Also, if anyone here is knowledgeable on LOD, does mine look normal? When posting screenshots on different forums I get comments stating that my LOD looks terrible, especially for ultra settings

I'm using NMC texture packs

Post by rbroab » Sun Apr 21, 2013 8:11 pm

I'm using NMC texture packs and have never had anything like that happen. Your LOD looks fine to me. What are you settings in game? Like load the save, start, settings, display.

Are you using any other texture packs? Did you have any issues with install?

I'm not alright, I'm an equal amount of left.

Delete anything inside of

Delete anything inside of

'data\textures\landscape\LOD\wasteland\blocks'

and

'data\textures\landscape\LOD\wastelandnv\blocks'

The only textures which affect LOD after it's been generated are atlas textures. I don't know if NMC alters these. It's likely another issue not having to do with textures.

I have Improved LOD Noise Texture and Better LOD. Neither of those change the color as far as I know. I play with everything maxed. AA, AF and water displacement are off though.

Will try this and report back with results

EDIT: Alright, that seems to have helped a bit, but now it's using what looks to be the default LOD and it doesn't match NMC's textures! Images of Capital Wasteland and Goodsprings attached

Turning AA and AF on helped

Post by rbroab » Sun Apr 21, 2013 9:12 pm

Turning AA and AF on helped me with some texture problems. I have them maxed, but my computer can handle it. Just try setting them on a little or play around with them.

Can you post your mod list?

It happens with AA/AF on or off, I keep them turned off so that I can mess with ENBseries.

Exactly - deleting those data

Post by TrickyVein » Mon Apr 22, 2013 12:42 am

Exactly - deleting those data forces the game to revert back to using the default LOD.

In other words, it may not be a graphics-related problem. Your LOD actually looks that way, courtesy of NMC textures.

Is there a fix, or is it one

Is there a fix, or is it one of the kinks of playing two games at once?
