So im making a mod, one that changes values of different armors and weapons and enemy HP and DT/DR ratings. Ive talked to some people about how FNVEdit would be easier to use for this instead of the GECK. But when I open Xedit I cant seem to actually edit anything, I load FNV + FO3 + TTW and it wont let me edit any of the values...So if anyone would mind helping me or directing me to a tutorial of sorts, I would be much appreciative.

you should not be editing the
you should not be editing the values in any of the esms. if you want to make changes, rt-click on the FormID you want to change, then choose "copy as override". a list will come up and you can choose where the copied FormID should go.
the first time you should choose the "<new file>" option. (it will ask you to name your new esp). after that, just keep adding to your newly created esp. anytime it asks if you want to add masters to your new esp, say "OK".
when you are done, rt-click on your new esp and select "Sort Masters". exit and save.
make sure to adjust your load order and activate your new esp in FOMM/NMM. after activating, open FNVEdit again (with all the esm/esps you want to use selected), wait for FNVEdit to finish loading, rt-click in the FormID list, choose "Options", then "Create Merged Patch". once the merged patch is created, exit & save, activate merged patch in FOMM/NMM, then play
