Adding Millenia weapons to CW leveled lists

Post by neleus » Sun Jun 16, 2013 1:16 pm

Hi folks, I've been working over the last week or so to mod up my TTW install and I'm pretty much set with everything tested back and forth and working pretty much perfectly.

Last thing I want to do is add some of Millenia's great weapons to CW leveled lists. Just want to confirm my understanding of how to do so because I haven't seen it covered anywhere here. Just creating a merged patch in FNVEdit doesn't seem to be enough, but I'm not sure if all I need to do is process them through the TTW mod conversion for FNVEdit (don't think I need to do this for a FNV mod...) or if I need to go into the GECK and add them to CW leveled lists manually.

Thanks!

I was wondering that aswell,

I was wondering that aswell, Some armors from Spice of life are already spawning on NPCs, so i think the weapon should spawn aswell, i think.... I've found already some weapons from other mods around on npcs and in crates/boxes/other containers aswell as around (example: i found a Nail Gun on a shelv in a metro storage room ).

Hopefully someone with more experience and understanding will satisfy your questions :) and will satisfy mines aswell :D

only FO3 mods need to be converted.

IIRC, Millenia usually uses scripts to add stuff to the LL. as long as the LL in question is used in both the CW and the Mojave, then the items will show in both. with that said, there are a lot of LL that are CW only (they usually have a DC suffix on the end). if you want the items to be used by any of the CW specific LL, you'll have to add them yourself. if you choose to do this, i would recommend using FNVEdit instead of the GECK. it is much easier to edit LL's and to see things side-by-side in FNVEdit.

I've already done this, don't

I've already done this, don't use FNVEdit because it cannot recompile your esp(s). In fact this is very simple, Millenia uses scripts to put his guns into the enemies' inventories so most of the work is already done.

Basically what has to be done is this:

1. Use GECK and locate the script that adds in the guns, if you don't want to sift through scripts in GECK to find which one is it that you're looking for, I recommend opening FNVEdit and expanding the scripts column to see the script's name.

2. Once you find the script, all you need to do is to put in a few lines of code, which are basically the same lines that are used to put the weapons into other leveled lists, those lines are already there, there's no need to come up with something, just copy/paste and then change the name of the leveled list you want to use. For example CW raiders are called something like Raider1WeaponGunDC. If I were to guess I'd say the number that they have is to classify the different tiers of enemies in one faction. You can find leveled lists with FNVEdit, I found that leveled list by expanding Fallout 3's esm and looking under "leveled item"

3. Finally just save your esp(s), and let GECK do its work, this is how I managed to put those guns into Talon Company and the DC Raiders.

Okay, I'm looking to do this

Okay, I'm looking to do this as well with the Classic 10mm SMG that is currently populat on the Nexus.  Unfortunately, I don't know what kind of script to look for that the previous post mentions.

EDIT:

I did it by going into the GECK, clicking on a leveled list while the file is set as the active file, and add it from there.
