Audio note problem

Post by Senterpat » Thu May 02, 2013 8:13 pm

So I'm having an issue with notes in my converted mod not working right. I don't have much dialogue experience, but everything looks to be in order in the geck and folder structure. I was wondering if anyone knows what could be causing this?

All the other audio bits in the mod work fine, it's just notes.

Maybe the sound files need to have new file names?  Maybe the folder structure needs to be checked if you renamed the mod's ESP or ESM files (or switched from ESP to ESM etc.?  Dunno...

Are the audio note files different format than the other audio files you're using? The geck and game are very touchy about that.

Ok, so I checked and some of the files were out of order, the malevoice folder was wrong, and the files were wavs when the geck had them as mp3. I changed it all and everything is lined up right, but the notes still arent playing in game. Each note plays 5 seconds of silence, and the subtitle displays, but no sound...

Also the filenames all match up

Do you know the properties of the files? I believe they should be 44Hz and 16bit

Ok so I finally found a fix. The old responses just plain won't work, but adding a new response with the same setup is working. If anyone can think of a reason for this, it'd save me some time.

I'm gonna mess around with it more before I go and redo all of them. Having a job really interferes with my playtime.

Glad you found a fix. If you're determined to figure out just what was going on, you should ask Sesom. He is a geck wizard and helped with one of my mods that also had audio problems.
