Real Time Settler questions

Post by ElvenScoundrel » Sat Feb 09, 2013 6:54 pm

Does RTS for New Vegas work with TTW? To be more specific, can you scan the buildings in the Capital Wasteland using NV's version of RTS? Also, does it work well with Wasteland Defense?

I used RTS but only blue printed stuff from the Mothership Zeta and it worked, don't know about the rest but I have a feeling it will probably work too.

Never used Wasteland Defense with TTW so can't help there.

I don't know. I use it, I never looked for scrap though, also, I know for a fact you can't count CW trees as trees, so I don't believe you could easily set up in CW. However, Wasteland Defense works as intended.

I've made a hack, and it is a hack, to enable building in the CW. I added the CW trees and a few water sources to the check lists. Tried to enable mining but I think we need to be near the map markers. Right now I'm settling at Arlington Cemetery. I've been able build shelters and the lumber mill, but the mines have to be back in Vegas. It will be interesting to see where the caravans go :).

To answer the original question, you can scan anything with RTS, it even supports some vending machine type things, terminals, posters. I mean the vending machines added by mods, you can use rts to copy the vending machine from the mod on this site and add it to your city. Copying terminals with useful info (such as the one used to find bounties in NVB 2 is a good idea too. I've spent hours building a house with RTS, I could go on and on.

Call me Pat. Senterpat is too much to type.

Can you post that 'hack' as a download? I would love to use it... maybe even figure out the mining...

Sure. It's an esp. I copied extra records into it when I was trying to puzzle it out. If I remember correctly I changed 1 script (aaaDialogBox02SCRIIPT), distance was 4999. aaaCheckWoodListB has CW trees add. aaaCheckWaterWellListB has some CW drinking sources added.
