Help Me Create The Best TTW Experience Possible.

Post by Roxas » Thu Jul 16, 2015 12:48 am

Hey guys, so I'm continuing this off my other post where I asked for help with a crash problem I was having (https://taleoftwowastelands.com/content/12-hours-trying-fix-crash-please-help#comment-43089).

After 3 days of frustration and not making any progress, I decided to cut my losses and start over. I've uninstalled and reinstalled F3 and New Vegas, and I'm in the process of installing the base TTW. I need your help though, as I'm someone who's gotten a bit spoiled with all the mods I previously had in Fallout New Vegas. I want to make the most out of my time in the Capital Wasteland, and I can't do it without your help.

I need to know in what order I install which of these mods, and then when I install their compatibility patches. So here we go.

Please keep in mind I only plan on playing in the DC wasteland, I don't know if that lets you cut a few corners or not.

Project Nevada

Weapon Mods Expanded

EVE

Marts Mutant Mod

Interior Lighting Overhaul (I don't know if the it'll do anything for F3, let me know)

A World Of Pain Fallout 3

Vurts Wasteland Floral Overhaul (for Fallout 3 once again)

Along with these Quest Mods (All of which are converted if I remember correctly)

Ties That Bind (This one I want to install asap, since it affects the main storyline from the very beggining)

Vault 101 Revisited

Regulators

Overpass

A Note Easily Missed

These UI Mods (I assume these won't be too dificult with UIO, but I'd appreciate advice)

DarnsUI

Thin Hud (Should be compatible with DansUI)

Dynavision3

Advanced Recon Range Finder

Hitmans First Person Animation Replacer

Hitmans Ammo and Weapon Condition Checking

oHud

And these smaller mods that I feel add more to the game.

Bottle That Water

Dynamic Third Person Camera

Ammo Ingredients As Loot

Advanced Recon Tech (will the New Vegas edition still add it to the power armor helmets in DC?)

Street Lights

More Perks

LFox Missing Ammo Recipes

Bubba shot the jukebox

CASM

The Weapon Mod Menu

JIP Companions Command & Control

JIP Improved Recipe Menu

Craftable Rifle Holster

Personalized Messages Sneak Addon

Personalized Messages

Power Armor Distribution Overhaul

Vending Machines of The Wastes

Rivet City Merchants

Possibly Immersive Armors if its compatible (http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/58139/?)

And to top it all off, TTW Realistic Wasteland Lighting - Enhanced TTW Version.

I realize it's a lot, and if there are any mods that would be too problematic just let me know and I'll remove it. Once again, thanks for the help.

I would reccomend adding these mods to the mix:

TTW Redisigned(http://taleoftwowastelands.com/content/ttw-fallout-3-new-vegas-redesigned)

TTW Interiors project(http://taleoftwowastelands.com/content/ttw-interiors-project-0)

One of my favorite mods taller dc skyscrapers(http://taleoftwowastelands.com/content/taller-dc-skyscrapers-v30)

and don't forget the diverse anti-crash mods!

Awesome!

As said earlier, install

As said earlier, install order doesn't matter so much in most cases, it's the load order that is important. Also as said earlier, install one mod at a time and check that it works before continuing. You can have a stable game with lots of mods, but it takes a while. It's a bit like building a house - one brick at a time.

There is no ILO (well, no official release yet) for F3. There's a converted version of Realistic Interior Lighting, though.

For Vurt's Flora Overhaul, there's a converted version with a FOMM installer. I'd recommend checking the install order in one of the last posts in that thread. If using it with LODGEN, which I'd recommend as the latter is great, install order IS important in that case.

Here's my load order of PN, WMX, EVE and MMM:

Mart's Mutant Mod.esm

Project Nevada - Core.esm

Project Nevada - Equipment.esm

Project Nevada - Extra Options.esm

Project Nevada - Cyberware.esp

Project Nevada - Rebalance.esp

EVE FNV - ALL DLC.esp

WeaponModsExpanded.esp

Project Nevada - EVE All DLC.esp

Project Nevada - Rebalance Complete.esp

Project Nevada - Cyberware Additions.esp

Project Nevada - All DLC.esp

Project Nevada - WMX.esp

Project Nevada - TTW.esp

WMX-EVE.esp

As for other recommended mods:

TTW Interiors

RWED (conflicts with EVE so load later if you want the more dangerous explosions in RWED winning out)

Well, I could go on as I obviously like all mods I'm using.

Also, don't forget to use a Merged Patch to stitch leveled lists etc. together.

@suoert I considered using

@suoert I considered using TTW Redesigned (well really, only the Project Beauty Conversion) but I'm afraid it'll just add more things to patch and worry about. But I might install it when I get everything up and running ^_^ As for DC Interior and Taller Skyscrapers, definitely will look at those after my game is optimized.

@Arkngt Yea haha, thanks for commenting on the other post and helping me out, and yea install order probably doesn't matter as much, but I feel that its easier to control when you're installing certain mod in order, like first gameplay then ui then equipment, stuff like that. So I'll start with installing MMM (well actually I should probably install MCM first right?) and then move on to Project Nevada. That being said, I might just install Ties That Bind and Project Nevada and get out of the Vault, then go on to installing the rest of the mods. If that's a bad idea please let me know haha.

UPDATE

Post by Roxas » Thu Jul 16, 2015 11:49 pm

UPDATE

I got TTW working, alongside Project Nevada and DarnsUI (with some trouble, can't use oHud to adjust/hide it, gonna go on the forum page and see if there's a fix) and Ties That Bind. I've made it to Megaton, time to start activating the rest of the mods. Had a bit of scare when my game crashed as I was leaving Vault 101, but it seems to be stable now.

I'm gonna go ahead and install WMX and EVE, alongside all the smaller mods. Saving AWOP and the quest mods for last.

Regarding HUD mods: use UIO

Post by Arkngt » Fri Jul 17, 2015 12:00 am

Regarding HUD mods: use UIO if you aren't already.

Also, you don't mention MMM. If you add it now, i.e. after leaving the Vault, wait 4 days in a secluded cell such as the player house so you ensure that the cells are reset and you get the MMM changes.

I'm having trouble with my UI

Post by Roxas » Fri Jul 17, 2015 11:47 pm

I'm having trouble with my UI, I installed Darnafied Ultimate TTW Edition but didn't like how I couldn't hide it/move it with Adjustable HUD/iHud, so I uninstalled it and installed the regular New Vegas edition. But now my HUD is invisible and I don't know how to fix it.

Not much help with your

Not much help with your particular issue, but the combination of Darnified Ultimate TTW Edition, oHUD and UIO (linked above) works perfectly for me (i.e. I can hide and adjust etc.).

Can you give me the details

Post by Roxas » Sat Jul 18, 2015 4:34 am

Can you give me the details on how you installed them and what your load order is concerning them? I installed all three of those mods as well and it wouldn't let me adjust/hide them.

Can't recall exactly, but I

Post by Arkngt » Sat Jul 18, 2015 11:38 am

Can't recall exactly, but I think it was like:

1. MCM

2. DarNifiedUI Ultimate Edition

3. UIO

4. Project Nevada

5. oHUD 1.1 + oHUD Darnified Patch 1.1

DarNified should definitely be installed first of your HUD mods as other mods affecting the HUD often have support of DarN if detecting it.

UIO is sort of a magical NVSE plugin making sure you can use several HUD mods at the same time, so make sure you have it.

My load order of them is actually a bit haphazard, but it works and it is:

oHUD.esm

DarNifiedUINV.esp

The Mod Configuration Menu.esp
