Stuff I miss from FWE - are there separate mods for it?

Post by Arkngt » Sat Jun 27, 2015 11:03 pm

I'm a huge fan of FWE and while Project Nevada takes care of some features, there are some I miss when playing TTW with PN now. So here's my thread about stuff I miss and wonder if they are covered by FNV mods:

1. Radiation. I need more radiation. Now my char can swim about as she please - I want her to die if she wades over the river to slowly.

2. Get rid of minigames for lockpicks and terminals. I love how FWE has the option to automate lockpicking and getting access to terminals. Is there such a mod for FNV.

I'll probably come up with more stuff as I play. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

I decided to skip hardcore

Post by Arkngt » Sun Jun 28, 2015 12:37 am

I decided to skip hardcore mode as it's so annoying with needs in timescale 30 and as I understand it you shouldn't change the timescale with TTW. Which means I'll use Stimpaks heal over time NON HC instead. And I'll try out Kasdars Lockpicking System. Can't really find a radiation mod that is like FWE, though.

The Immersive Minigames mod

The Immersive Minigames mod might be what you're looking for in terms of replacing the lockpicking/hacking minigames.

PN has options to increase

PN has options to increase the amount of radiation you take. THat might be in the extra options addon for it, though.

PN is the sorta successor to FWE, combine it with Extra Options and you have most of the features, it allows adjustment of the hardcore needs rates independant of the time scale.. CAM will cover everything to do with the chems/alcohol and more. Not sure about a Terminal one, I don't remember how FWE's worked. There's no triage system either.

There are a few things I miss too... I liked T3T's outcast trading, the super mutant diversity, the motorcycle, and other small mods that were included in it like cut content, and lootable containers replacing the static ones.

I've been slowly trying to put a lot of these things together myself for TTW.

@MacDemo, thanks! Not sure

@MacDemo, thanks! Not sure how I missed that one, seems to be just what I'm looking for.

@Vindr, oops - I'll check through all the options more carefully. I'm using the addon.

@RoyBatty, yeah, might lower the rates instead perhaps. A miss my timescale 8 - timescale 30 is rather ridiculous really. But, of course, I'd rather have a stable game.

@Vindr, is that the Radiation

Post by Arkngt » Sun Jun 28, 2015 6:28 pm

@Vindr, is that the Radiation Gain setting? I had it at 400%, which I guess is from the FWE preset - and it's much higher than vanilla/PN. Or is it some other setting?

I had hunger/sleep/thirst on PN defaults, which I guess are made for lower timescales - I'll test it on vanilla settings.

While I'm at it, is there a good overhaul of the repair system? I feel that I'm back at vanilla F3, but with the added need to have repair kits or whatever they are called. I'd much prefer a system more like FWE when you can use lots of items for repairs and don't have to repair the weapon with another weapon of the same type.

Yes, that's perfect. Thanks for the tip.

Regarding repairs, I found Alternative Repairing Mod, which seems to be what I'm looking for regarding that.

EDIT: Honestly, I found repairing to be even more annoying with Alternative Repairing Mod. FWE, where are you when I need you?

Wait, it wasn't Alternative

Wait, it wasn't Alternative Repairing Mod. Is it Project Nevada that adds the need to have Repair Kits when you repair weapons? How do I turn it off? Man, not only do I need the same weapon to repair a weapon - now I need a repair kit as well. Great. I love micromanaging madness...

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it and turned it off.

Perhaps Realistic Repair is closer to what I'm looking for.
