Normal to have dropped fps with mods?...

Post by siuking » Wed Oct 29, 2014 1:45 pm

Hello,

I am using the following mods in TTW with 4GB NV

I know there is a V-Sync thing so fps is capped at 60, and in the old days I never noticed any drop; but then now whenever I play (after travelling to Mojave and start in Michelle's), whenever I look far and walk around longer, my fps starts dropping to 30-40...and clearing cache dont help it (I just started the game!) and I dont really have that many mods to begin with, is this normal??

EDIT: system spec - i5 Quad 3470; 8GB RAM; GTX660Ti 2GB; Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit

No graphic mods - I was trying to minimize the number of mods and changes so the fps could be better

what's the ttw install file?

Thanks!

a few questions. system spec? are you running any graphic mods, such as NMC's which has no esm/esp so it would be represented in the list you provided? would you display the ttw install file?

a suggestions. get fnv stutter remover.

weadon mod expanaded, is that wme or wmx? i get the two confused. wmx has a ttw conversion i dont think wme does. you may look further into that.

Mods will drop your fps

Post by KeltecRFB » Fri Oct 31, 2014 1:54 pm

Mods will drop your fps especially the more you add to the world space.  There are also performance mods that will remove unnecessary fluff.  Make sure to read the FAQ, TTW Performance Mod details, and the original mod details on the Nexus,  You can adjust your game settings to not use as many decals and other fluff items.  You already have TTW bug fixes so that is good.

That controls the density of grass patches, there are some mods that ask for you to change this...If you forget it can get hard to track this down.

A high number like 140 means there is not a lot of grass.  (honestly this setting you still have plenty of grass)

Default I think is 40...

A number of 10 basically carpets any area that had a grass clump with grass everywhere.

It gets to be a problem because grass is animated.
