Anybody know what mod the 'Tactical Machine Pistol' is from?

Hey guys, I've found a weapon called 'Tactical Machine Pistol' in the Capital Wasteland and it has no texture, in other words, it's just a big red exclamation mark. I'm unsure what mod it is from but I've tried googling and searching every site with no results. 


The reason I'm asking here is because I've also come across the 'Infiltrator' from The Pitt dlc with the laser sight modification and that also has missing textures, but when I remove the laser sight the Infiltrator is shown as the simple Assault Rifle with no scope but scope functionality (I can hold right click and still zoom in like normal) and no silencer. I'm thinking the two problems might come the same mod, and since Infiltrator is a TTW exclusive weapon I'm asking here.


I am using WMX with http://www.taleoftwowastelands.com/content/ttw-20-wmx-mods-some-ttw-weapons for compatibility as well as the user 'Her Imperious Condescention' WMXUE compatabile .esp from further down the post. And yes, I have attempt to reinstall WMX in it's entiretly along with the TTW compatibility mod.

It's from WMXUE ModernWeapons. FNVEdit shows the Model filename as "WeaponModsExpanded\weapons\modern\1handpistol\steyrtmp\steyrtmp.nif".


The Infiltrator is in ThePit.esm and TAleofTwoWastelands.esm. Its Model Filename is "DLCPitt\Weapons\2HandAutomatic\DLC01Infiltrator.nif".

I figure I can fix the machine pistol by redownloading (or reinstalling) WMX. But I'm not too sure how I can go about fixing the textures for the infiltrator :(.

After rereading your post, I think the exclamation mark is from missing models, not textures. The textures are assigned in the model nif. Nifscope shows steyrtmp.nif as using "textures\WeaponModsExpanded\modern\1handpistol\steyrtmp\steyrtmpframe.dds" and "textures\WeaponModsExpanded\modern\1handpistol\steyrtmp\steyrtmpframe_n.dds"

I'm sorry, but I'm not that great with mods. Most of my knowledge has come from trial and error (which has surprisingly worked out pretty well), so I am not too sure what you're referencing about. I'm not too sure if it helps, but I have a few screenshots of each weapon and what the problem I see is, if you'd like me to upload and post them.

Searching TTW and Nexus forums and google has taught me quite a doozy. Unfortunately I wouldn't even know what to type in to google to help explain Trm8r's post. Good thing that it's only those two weapons so far, haven't found many other affected weapons yet.

Alright well first off the big red exclamation points are indicators of missing MESHES not missing TEXTURES. Missing textures are indicated by flickering textures and taking on the textures of objects around it.


His speak of "nif" files are what the meshes are called. Net Immerse Files. The textures for a model, unless using texture sets in the GECK, are indicated within the NIF. Nifskope is what you use to view NIF files. He opened the meshes in nifskope and looked for the textures, which he then provided to you.


Those texture paths are not very useful to you at the moment, because you are having mesh problems, not texture problems. The post before that, he gave you the model paths, and that's where you should start. Navigate to your FalloutNV folder "Data\meshes\WeaponModsExpanded\weapons\modern\1handpistol\steyrtmp\steyrtmp.nif" and make sure it is even there.

Thanks for clearing that up Jax, and I apologize, Trm8r, for my ignorance of the subject.


After searching through the files it would seem that they don't exist. After rereading the nexus WMX page, I see where I went wrong in installing WMXUE.
