Dogmeat can travel to Vegas in vanilla TTW already wink and there is Rex too if you want a more futuristic type of dog yes.

Oh he can?  Awesome.  Nevermind then I choose "a totally new character, possibly a tribal decendent of Sulik who comments on the events of FO2 etc e.g when entering New Vegas Strip he/she could say something like "Grampy bone be sayin dis is nottin like Dem Reno Gambles.   Bad Juju der"  P.S they could have grampy bone

Actually I had that exact idea, I am literally working on an ancient protectron companion named XY-17b who was made years before the war, worked as a security bot, repair bot, Enclave drone, and has met the Vault Dweller briefly from fallout 1. I plan on him having a lot of dialogue to learn about his past and being able to upgrade him similar to ED-E.


The reason he chooses the player is cause he knows the player is young, fit, dedicated to the cause, and tactically advanced when it comes to combat, so the player's chances of survival are greatly boosted over the other NPC's in the wastelands. He has been to New Vegas, New Reno, Vault City, and a bunch of other places, so when traveling throughout DC he is not going to be familiar with the surroundings since he hasn't been there long, but has been in the western area of the wasteland, so when in the New Vegas map he is going to recognize things and places.


The reason he is so different from other protectrons is cause he has been upgraded multiple times by RobCo and Big MT for use with the Enclave. I gave him a pretty robotic voice, doesn't sound human. Yet I am still working on the dialogue, if someone could help me with the model of him and the textures I would be greatful, since he has a lotta dialogue its gonna be awhile, plus the scripting for the events and stuff.

I would love to see that robot mod. Maybe instead of a protectron use a BDI unit from SmileyTop's Robot Race.


And for his backstory, maybe he traveled with Harold, and parted ways when Harold took root in Oasis.

Hello, fellas. I brought this up in the chatroom, but I figured it might be nice to discuss this with you.


In my humble opinion it would be very effective, if we could have the vanilla companions being able to find their place in one of the wastelands.


To make things clearer, for example while in vanilla New Vegas Veronica doesn't have anywhere to go after leaving the Western Brotherhood. But in the Eastern Brotherhood there is the Citadel, where Lyons has little reason not to take Veronica in.


On the other hand we have Fawkes in the DC, who could find a place among the supermutants of Jacobstown.


And I'm sure there are other things characters in the game that could react to placed in the other wasteland. Raul could comment on the Underworld and so forth.


I've seen the Sydney mod add lines to Lyons that had him react to her request to stay in the Citadel, and her reacting to that in turn, and I was wondering how difficult something like that would be to implement?

That is already made and in testing for a while, but then other issues appeared (Mothership Zeta Crashes, Super slow save loading times, SVN to Git problems, etc) and testing on it got halted. Now that the team is getting those issues under control testing will resume and with luck the next TTW version being released to the public will have it already.
