Am I the only one who would like to see a revamp of Point Lookout? Environment and critters, not the quest line.
First, there the issue that there's NO settlements, either normals or ghouls nor swampfolk. I just get the feeling the boardwalk should have a sixties like beach motel that is fortified to the teeth where people live arcology like.....sort of a tenpenny tower, but justified. Have a dock....do trading....and a beach town like that would be large enough to be unexplored (if you understand conservation of scale means that any location in FO3 is ten times it's game size). Madame Panda would make more sense in a lightly or moderately fortified promenade. You could even have swampfolk traders! Who warn you not to go into the backwoods. Better economy, and Haley alludes to this in his dialogue. Plus....You could wipe out a Swampfolk settlement or two to show them the price of murderous xenophobia!
Second, it'd be nice if there was a mod to keep Calvert Manion from being blown up, especially if you 'side' with Calvert at the Ferris wheel. Or even take over and make pretty of Blackhall Manor! That'd be really cool!
Or adding real critters.
But what I really, REALLY would like for a Point Lookout mod? A Swampfolk revamp. That they are considered and play like creatures is disgusting, to say nothing of how debilitating their deformities are. And the big guys are wearing work shirts without an economy to justify either making or wearing shirts with their names sewn on. Would anyone else like to see the Swampfolk as mildly deformed humans? Like the people in the Pitt, just a bit more in the uncanny valley. As is they're cartoonish and stereotypically offensive. Even when you make Hillbilly Horrors like the Swampfolk, you need to be somewhat fair and even handed.
Any thoughts?
