TTW - ENB Wasteland Duality

Post by alegendv1 » Sun Apr 21, 2013 4:24 pm

I noticed that no one had made a thread regarding good ENBs to use with TTW. I assume this is because of two problems:

  • The contrast between the two wastelands colors and environments

  • People have different preferences in their ENB customizations

I'm going to be testing ENB configurations (that can be downloaded at both fallout mod nexuses) for the Capital Wasteland side. I'd appreciate some help with testing on the Mojave Wasteland side, so PM me if you are interested in testing the FNV side.

In order to consolidate posts and not make it too confusing, whoever hops on board to help with this should PM me the testing results in a format something like this (Draft version):

  1. ENB name, version of ENB required, and link to the ENB configuration

  2. Opinion of how it works in Capital Wasteland, 2-5 images, any weather or environment mods used, member name(s) who tested

  3. Opinion of how it works in Mojave Wasteland, 2-5 images, any weather or environment mods used, member name(s) who tested

  4. Opinion of ENB's Wasteland Duality

Whoever decides to help, we will probably have to sort out a few things before we can make a results post.

Finally, a few questions I have:

  • I use imageshack to put my images on here. What's a good size for everybody to see the images?

  • Is there a different way to put images on posts (not attaching) that I don't know about?

  • I just use printscreen button or Steam screenshot. Is one better than the other or is there an even better alternative?

Well, that's all I have folks. Whoever PMs me, we will discuss which ENBs to handle first.

Note: I will be pretty busy until after May 10th due to finals and juries, so testing may be slow on my end up until that point.

We should try ENB's without colour profiles maybe?

I can't wait to see your work! Would love to help!

Personally I would try it out myself but at the moment my cpu wouldn't be able to handle it. I plan on upgrading soon laugh

It is already on the list, Computerrock1. Testing won't begin on my end, though, at least for 2 weeks probably because of finals and juries. If you'd like to help after you upgrade your computer, let me know.

Is the idea behind this to have one ENB activated in DC and have it automatically change to the other when you go to NV? Because if that's possible it would be a very wonderful affect.

JimmyFraska, the idea is to test an ENB preset made for either FNV or FO3 and to see how well it works in the opposite wasteland.

Hey the Midrastic enb seems pretty cool. There is a problem that i have with it that maybe someone more knowledgeable could help with..
Everything looks awesome until I open a container (or access a menu, quicksave, etc) - when I close it there is a flash as the enb seems to turn off for a second. Any ideas?

I'm using that ENB right now in the Capitol Wasteland. Looks awesome. I did get that checkerboard water bug, but I assume that's some setting I have wrong. I'll look into it. I guess I should take some shots...these have the Fellout merge that's up here on the forums somewhere.

Here are some Capitol Wasteland shots.

Thanks for the shots

Thanks for the shots WizardofAtlantis!

I'm afraid I won't be able to follow through with this project :(  (RL stuff)

Anyways, as a recommendation for people who can't run ENBs and/or for people who don't like ENBs for whatever reasons (bugs, not a good ENB for both Wastelands, etc.), I highly recommend using a combination of high res retexture mods and this FXAA injector found here: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/45690//?

While the FXAA injector was made for NV, I find it still works well on the FO3 side. I'll try to post some screenshots if I get the chance. Some places are a bit dark (not overwhelmingly so), but you can light it up pretty easily (NVSE flashlight, or pipboy light)

I'm assuming you know this

Post by alegendv1 » Tue Jul 09, 2013 12:27 pm

I'm assuming you know this but you can turn off DoF in the ENB ini file. However, I do agree with you, I much prefer the DoF effects in Skyrim than in Fallout 3/New Vegas. I don't know if the DoF is more advanced in Skyrim or if it just fits better. It also works decent for screenshots better than actual gameplay.
