These are all awesome suggestions!

Right now, there is a tiny bit of work involved when hiring my companion. Not really a quest, but one of the options you choose might upset you.

As or now, working on the AI is one of my projects. Because just like you dawe1313, I like to be stealthy and snipe from a distance. Though on occasion I do appreciate being outnumbered and outgunned.

Dialog is important to me. My companion does use dialog. He is a robot, but I'm trying to make him think he is sort of a person. He's not good at it, but he tries to use sarcasm, aggression, boredom, and he can be a bit maniacal, but that's just me.  Not exactly exploding with dialog options, but it's something to work on.

Also, my companion isn't in Goodsprings. Let's face it, if you downloaded and enabled every mod for New Vegas from the nexus, how overfilled would Goodsrpings be? He's in a place that makes sense and fits his little story.

Love the suggestions and hope you guys keep 'em coming!

to sum it up:

[list]

better stealth oriented AI

better combat AI

good dialog/random comments

a good quest to enable hiring

reasonable, engaging back story so they feel more like a person, and not just walking mules/cannon fodder

You just described Willow. And to a lesser extent, Niner.

You mentioned stealth and sniping. Idk how this works but CCO (Cirosan's Classic Overhaul) has a module for letting companions have sneak attack criticals. You could look at that. Though I believe Delta told me that it probably needs some work to be compatible with TTW.

Oh and on a sidenote: use every new weapon mod from Millenia and what does Doc Mitchell's house turn into? A High res armory XD

maybe Doc isn't such a good guy after all...  maybe his patients with good gear don't wake up...

I like the Willow mod. It's a great mod. I hate Willow herself though haha. She gets on my nerves. But you should definitely try her out.

I love the sound of your companion, I can't wait to see what you come up with. Since he's a robot maybe be able install implants in him?

Call me Pat. Senterpat is too much to type.
