Pintocat is right, there are already barrels/kegs in the game here is a picture:

And Point Lookout and Old World Blues has a still model too:

I am pretty sure there are also metal barrels but I don't have any more time to look for images cheeky.

Hope this helps you in any way laugh.

OK, I'm starting with something completely simple as far as environment manipulation. I'm calling this Clean 15. The goal is to make it look like I-15 look like its actually used for transportation. From Mohave Outpost to the Nevada Highway Patrol there should be no, I repeat no derelict vehicles and any derelict vehicles from there to the Strip should be due to current difficulties, not war. The Mohave should have moved on long, long ago.

Now this brings up three questions, the first of which is why in the hell is the screenshot doing this? I don't care that there are workaround programs, the screenshot feature should not be taking pictures like this and I won't stand for it.

The next question has to do with the funky floating things. How do I rotate the camera to get isometric POVS? I know to center I click on an object a couple of times, but I need to be able to pan down to character level to see....floating motorcycles properly. So I can delete them.

Next question is, when I get an object in the cross hairs and have selected it, how to I find out what that object is? I'm not seeing any names of object numbers pooping up everywhere.

Question after that is that to revamp the Long 15 I need fresh, well maintained traffic signs and fresh paved roadways. Do these exist in vanilla NV assets or do I have to find a modders resource? And if they do exist as vanilla NV assets, how to I find them?

Not much of a progress, but I'm liking something, anything being done about that checkpoint.

I dunno about the pics I assumed you were grabbing screen caps from a 3dTV until you said something. In GECK for moving the camera left shift (maybe both, never tried) or spacebar then slowly move your mouse til you see the effect. I say slowly becuase GECK comes defaulted on something like 1 or 2 for speed on camera movement.. You'll wanna right click on a completely empty place on your render screen > Properties(?) then you'll see a spot to edit movement speed. Get something in your crosshairs and press tilde then click on that something and you'll see some numbers at the top of the screen. If you have NVSE, now is the time to type 'gbo' to get the info you need to poop up. Couldn't tell ya on the street signs but I believe there is better pavement.

I don't know why the screenshots look like that either surprise are you using the game screenshot feature or the Steam one? I remember I couldn't take screenshots using the game one, I have to take my screenies using the steam one laugh.

In GECK a good way I use to make sure things stay over the ground or tables or whatever without floating is using the key "F" it will drop the item on the top of the closest surface underneath the item wink sometimes I need to use the F key a couple of times to make it perfect, and others I use it too much that the item disappears (I assume it goes under the surface) but when that happens I just hit "Ctrl+Z" to undo and the item will be back on top of the surface. Also if you press the " ~ " key you can go into experimental camera mode and walk around like if you were controlling a character in game (but be careful you might walk too fast or rotate too fast and you will also walk through walls and stuff also if your keyboard is not in EN locale language it might not work).

tjmidnight420 already mentioned the keys to rotate the camera and I am not sure about the roads asphalt or signs, if I have time I will look around wink

Ok this is starting to work, I can zoom and pan and rotate. Awesomesause! The question is then, how do I put stuff in? Namely I need to know how to put in more stuff. In the first place, are there intact road meshes? If so how to I find them? The other is while the bottom right menu has what seems to be a list of the things in the cell, I can't click on an object and know the id number. I can click on a rock Formation and know its NVNRockCanyonnumber06 (I'm assuming 6th NVNRockCanyon in the cell not the game) but I can't click on that rock and easily see what it is.

This is my plan: is the fresh road assets exist, then I will repave, leaving the old road intact, then use the cell item finder at the bottom left to find and delete the broken road objects when done. Or is there a better way?

NVNRockCanyonnumber06 is the name of the piece. If you explore other areas you'll probably come across that exact item in a different cell. As for the IDs GECK hides them by default. Forgive me if I'm off I don't have it open, but in the big catagory list of all the stuff in the game click on one of the catagories. On the right it'll list off all the pieces in that catagory. Up at the top there's some sliders to adjust how big you want each cell in the list. (think spreadsheet) Right after the name column instead of being just one of those lil black adjusters there's two side by side. Grab the second one and slide it to the right and you'll see the IDs. My guess for where to start looking for roads would be world objects.
