I'm so glad the raider theme has a hanging raider wearing a birthday hat. I feel like I am literally going to have a different save file for each theme.

I'm not alright, I'm an equal amount of left.

They're all beautiful, but I have to ask, what's the storage situation like? Is there any chance of getting a small room or basement with some named lockers (ie. "Pistols", "Rifles", "Light Armor", "Chems", "Heavy Weapons", etc.)? I don't know about the rest of you, but at a certain point in the game I have so much stuff that I can't find anything I want without catagorised storage.

Also, have you considered maybe adding one non-vanilla-but-often-seen-in-mod-houses-feature per theme? The vault theme could have a water purifier, for instance, while the Sierra Madre theme could have a vending machine.

I'd rather have containers

Post by rbroab » Wed May 29, 2013 6:37 am

I'd rather have containers that are just regular containers. Fridge, locker, weapon-box, etc. I used some house mods, and all of the containers overwhelmed me...And that's coming from someone who collects one of each item in the game.

That said, I'm sure Chuck wouldn't mind if you opened the mod in the GECK and renamed some containers. I'm with you on the featured item in each theme...but that's up to Chuck. And just like before, I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you added it in for your own game.

Right now only half of the containers are safe storage, I've had some offers to help me work out a script that will move the contents of one container to another if you change themes. This however is for a future update. there is now a shit tone of storage in every theme and, I have no issue with someone modding this mod. If you want a sorting script or to add the basement that leads to the addict which has the buttons to launch ICBM's your more then welcome too. surprise

got a question (which will probably show just how little i know about the GECK ;) ).

would it be possible to put the actual containers off in their own little limbo cell, and then change the containers in the actual house to static activators referencing them?

that should alleviate any need to move items between containers, and you could have different statics in each theme referencing the same containers.

That would be pretty easy to set up actually, Chuck mentioned that he has people willing to help with that, so I'm sure they will do something quite similar.
