New California would be before Fallout 3, so I assume it would appear an option at game start allowing people to start New California. Probably an optional to allow to go there during a game already started, somehow.

What would be cool is if you
What would be cool is if you played as "James" in New California and the events there is what led him to the Capital wasteland etc etc. We have TTW for "you" as a character but don't have much of James history prior to your birth. And then "you" are born and the lone wanderer becomes a courier that heads north and then takes a vacation in San Francisco to retrace your Dad's roots.

Seeing as how we are friends
Seeing as how we are friends with the developers and rickerhk is a team member, New California will have a compatibility patch for TTW.

That's actually not a bad idea! :D Personally for me, I'd play New California to establish James's (and even Catherine's roots, modding can do magic wonders on that front) origins. And after the conclusion of New California, they head east to avoid the Enclave Remnants that were still out in California at the time. We all know what happens in the Capital Wasteland, but what if due to unforseen circumstances (I.E The Plot Convergence Mod), the Lone Wanderer has to travel west to find the Platinum Chip to free his/her dad, then after a bit of years in Nevada, he/she finds it after being given it to deliver by chance, but he/she is shot by Benny, thus he/she needs to get it back. Then the Lone Wanderer (now a Courier) goes back to D.C, frees his/her dad, and the plot plays out as normal, albeit with a bit of a time skip (it's 2281 at that point). Then the NV plot ends afterwards, with the plot of Salt Lake and Frontier soon to follow, and then in San Francisco, he/she can find the ruins of Vault 18 and learn his/her parents true origins and provide some sort of "closure" to some of their questions regarding who his/her parents were. Maybe even a small unmarked grave that the Lone Wanderer made for them along with a vault suit with the number 18 on both of their graves before The Lone Wanderer heads back to Nevada to live the rest of his/her life.

How much can the NV engine
How much can the NV engine handle? I mean this would be epic in terms of replay and modding. But can one expect to pile a crap-load of mods on top of it? Are there known limitations?
The idea of playing the mother or father is fantastic!![]()

So, from what I'm reading,
So, from what I'm reading, New California will be released here in the next several months. The Frontier is around 80% completed and are shooting for a release late this year. But, I'm not finding any info on San Francisco. Google just keeps sending me to the one on the Nexus that hasn't been updated in over 2 yrs. The video is more recent, but, who is working on it and where can I track it?![]()
