Seperate Pip Boys?

Hey, so I've been wondering if it's possible to set that your original pip boy is the arm mounted pip-boy 3000 model you get in Vault 101 through all the way up until you go to new vegas. Based on some dialog in FO4 it seems pip-boys are actually pretty valuable out in the wasteland, and it would actually make a lot of sense for the khans to steal your's when Benny kills you. However, instead of Doc just handing you his pipboy 3000, is it possible to have him instead hand you the pipboy 2500, from the mod a familiar friend? If so how could I do that? Would it tie into some quest or trigger I could set in the GECK?

When going to the mojave, make a save, then exit the game and enable A Familiar Friend, restart the game, and play as normal.

I made something similar for myself: Once I travel from DC to the Mojave, the script that handles the transition removes the vanilla pipboy and activates a hotkey script which adds the [url=http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49732/?]arm-mounted 2500[/url] whenever I press Tab and removes it again afterwards.


If you want the hand-held animations for the 2500, or something that's less work to setup, go with Gribble's solution above.
